I agree with the adopted children idea. I know that GOD wouldn't have to make slaves of His people.

Not many took the slave angle, that were Christian, it is a tough topic. As many have said we have God's promise that we will be sons and daughters. Yet Paul calls himself a bond servant or slave. When you think about it, at least for myself, I like the idea of slavery (to God). What have we got for our freedom thus far? Death, pain, misery, disease, and a better than 50/50 shot at hell! No thanks. Freedom is overrated and truth be told none of us our free right now. Just go and try to do as you will and see how far you get. We are slaves to our bodies and passions or we forsake our bodies and passions and trust in God and obey as a slave would and receive what rewards he would give us. Slavery to a righteous man or God is not the same as slavery to an evil man or the devil. Our views of slavery are from the 1800's and little else. Joseph was a slave and yet he commanded Egypt. Daniel too was a slave. Jesus also was a slave to his Fathers bidding and saw it through to the bitter end.
So whether slave or son I am God's as he wills I will see it done.

I don't believe that we are slaves when so many are free to do so much wrong. Prayer is not to signify slavery, that is just a way to talk to God. You should talk to him/her the same way you would a parent. Slaves don't have as big a leash as we do, we people kill and other such horrible crimes. We are still here and loved enough to ask forgiveness. Children or great to the power of a million grand children is more accurate than adopted children.

Baptized Christians are adopted children of God, co-heirs with Jesus Christ, citizens of heaven, who enjoy free will.
Definitely not slaves.
However, one may humble himself before the Lord in such a way that one voluntarily acts like a slave.
St. Paul referred to himself as such.
Big difference though.

A slave is forced into servitude with the threat of severe punishment if they disobey.
A child is free to make their own choices, but they receive guidance to try to help them make the right ones. Going against the authorities decisions results in light-moderate punishment.
I'd say according to Christianity, we fit the first description more than the second. The punishment isn't instantaneous, but it is severe. We're not free to make our own choices because if we don't pick right, it's off to hell. Plus the book of names is already written. If you're not in it, you can't be added.

As born again believers, we become adopted children of God...equal heirs to the Kingdom of Heaven, same as God's son, Jesus. This is not my opinion...it is God's promise

Children don't forcibly or shouldn't forcibly be commanded, at least, not at a certain age.
Any love should be their choice and not a forced "do it or go to hell" type thing.
