I need a recommendation for a 30-06 deer rifle that comes in camo, price really isn't an issue, I already know the scope I want to use I'm just having trouble finding the right rifle. I want 30-06 because I can use the excellerator rounds for varmint in addition to deer hunting.

This is the load I've used for varmint with my old 30-06, it's a 55 grain bullet:

Hey there,if you know anyone who reloads get a 308(its shorter and lighter than an '06) and load some 100gn bullets, they do 3300fps and will be far more accurate than an accelerator.Camo tape is cheap AND removeable. The 308 has the same deer shooting capabilities as the 30-06,mike.

Remington makes a couple of models in 30-06 with camo finish, and they are some of the best rifles you can buy for the money. Accurate, tough, reliable and affordable.

Forget about the Camo stock, because it is not necessary.* Buy Remington or Savage or Winchester Brand.*

I think you have your preferences. But the game can't see weather its ca-mo or not. I prefer wood. The stock looks better in wood and has better resale value for your weapon. As far as what make of rifle that's all depends on price and dependability. The cheapest rifle with a plastic stock that you can ca-mo yourself, would be Savage with dependability. The most expensive would be Beretta, Browning, etc. Several makes in between. I like Winchester and Remington. I prefer a rifle that has open sights as well as scope mounts. I want the versatility for close up or woods shooting. Just don't get the Remington 710 its a disposable rifle. The scope I would get is a Shepherd. Look up their website. www.shepherdscopes.com.

I don't know what varmits your shooting but the 30-06 is a bit of an overkill for a small animal. The .22 or .22 mag is more than sufficient for this purpose, and the ammo is much cheaper. Especially when your shooting hundreds of rounds. Better on the shoulder too.

I think the Howa series rifles come in a camo finish.
