What you can do is get some baby wipes with aloe in them and give her a good wipe down. Then follow up with a clean warm damp wash cloth. Make sure she is very dry before you let her back in with the pups. Some dams just get the after birth all over their back sides and then stink to high heaven.
Especially if there a long haired breed.
Remember to keep the pups warm while your cleaning mom off ok!
A real bath can wait for another week or 2 ok, I should say at home no GROOMERS at all.

If she smells that bad she very well could have a vaginal infection. She'll clean herself, and with you wiping her down it shouldn't be that bad. But NO way don't take her to a groomer, is she eating, drinking, urinating and BM's normal. If there is a green/black discharge she needs a vet today. You should keep her at home, but you take the chance that she'll get the pups damp and they can and will get sick, it's best to wait and talk with your vet.

no.... besides all the other reasons, the most important is that you do not want her exposed to other dogs and potentially bringing viruses or diseases to the pups. You should give her a bath but make sure you either do not use shampoo or be ESPECIALLY careful to rinse it out as residue could be bad for the pups or cause them to not nurse.

well, happy new year to you too! Your dog is too important to risk anything, especially with all those puppies depending on her and you to live. She could get infected from anything, so no, please save all those dog's lives and don't let any chemical form of any kind get near that area. Happy new year and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! (EVEN THOUGH IT ALREADY PASSED.)

Way too soon to take her to a groomer. She doesn't care about the smell, but she needs to be with her babies and would be distressed at the trip.
Take some Dawn liquid soap and mix with warm water in a bowl. Use a couple cloths and wet, then wring them out partially to to a mini-bath by hand. You should be able to clean enough off her to lessen the smell. Gently pat her dry as much as you can without disturbing her.
If it's still offensive to you, then take Fabreeze and spray it on a damp wash cloth after the bedside bath and wipe her smelly areas with the Fabreeze wash cloth. That should lessen the odor some.

As she has just given birth, you should wait before grooming her. You should go before the week is up though because if you hate smelling it, just imagine how she feels having that on her. You need to take her to a professional grooming place, like Petsmart or something, and explain to them that she just gave birth about a week ago, that way they will take extra care with her. Continue wiping her down on your own until then. You don't want her to develop an infection or anything. Make sure you get the puppies vaccinated ASAP, because you don't want mom bringing anything home. Congratulations on the new puppies and good luck!

Do not send her anywhere, she could pick up a virus that could kill the entire litter such as parvo. You can give her a bath in the tub to wash her clean. I suggest a puppy shampoo that is mild. I like crazy dog shampoo it smells nice(baby powder scent) and is mild.

No.. and not even in a few weeks
there are too many diseases (especially PARVO) that a dog can bring home.. even a vaccianted dog can bring home parvo on its paws.. (this is also why mom dogs should NOT be walked off your property)
until the pups are vaccinated mom should not go anywhere....
it would be ok for you to bathe her yourself at home but take care not to get shampoo on her nipples.. or if you do wash it off well..
