The happiest cities are out east. Try Saint John, Moncton, Charlottetown, St John's, or Halifax.

Edit: New survey states Moncton is the most polite in Canada. That's 2 thumbs up for Moncton.

Victoria..Kamloops, Halifax and Montreal are great as far as cities go, but visit Beautiful Bobcaygeon Ontario, and see why living here makes sense.

Only five, huh?

Quebec City - one of the most interesting cities on Earth. Very European-feeling in the walled city district.

Vancouver - one of the most beautiful urban settings in the world.

Montreal - geographic beauty, great culture and no end of things to do.

Calgary - not so much for the city (although there is a ton to see and do here) as for the nearby Rocky Mountains. You can be in the backcountry from downtown Calgary in under two hours.

Toronto - the most Canadian part of Canada. A huge variety of things to do, Lake Ontario, and the Ontario wine country just a short drive away.

Newfoundland is often overlooked, but trust me, its an amazing place to visit. I've been there in the summer and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to, even better then the South of France in my opinion. So if you have the chance, you should take a trip there.

5 Cities:

St. John's
Whitehorse
Tofino
Ottawa

For a large, cosmopolitan city, you can't beat Montreal: culture, arts, architecture and beauty.

Other cities that aren't as large but are still very nice: Victoria BC, St. John's NL, Quebec City and Ottawa. Each have their own unique charms.

Only five?

I am from Ontario and I would say that my favourite cities to visit would be Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls and London, Ontario.

The cities or towns I would chose to live in would be a different selection. I live in beautiful St Thomas, Ontario and it is a great place to live - good schools, affordable housing, a hospital, Municipal Airport, shopping and restaurants. We are close to London, Ontario, 2 hours from Toronto, 2 hours from Niagara Falls, 2 hours from Detroit or Buffalo.

Actually, I can't think of any where else I would like to live so I am giving you just one - St Thomas!

Edmonton- biggest shopping mall in North America there
Quebec City- looks kinda like a European Town with street painters, architecture, street acts
Halifax- looks kinda like San Fracisco, with sloped streets and the beautiful ocean
Bay of Fundy- Beautiful rocks, highest and lowest tide: greatest change in tides
Prince Edward Island- beautiful rural landscape, enjoyed the lobster catching there- the baby ones, Anne of Green Gables
