He basicALLy did not say the words you sarcastically say that he did.
A respectful, loving atheist asks another heartfelt question, thus showing us all how compassionate some of you can be.

Halfadan: How about a quote from the Book of Job and not merely taking quotes out of context from other books that have nothing to do with that story/parable ?
Personally, I have to agree with Simon. I haven't read the Bible in some time, but I recall it the same way, that Job in the end finally has to ask God, why is he being punished... and God answers. Had he not answered, I can easily guess how the wager between God and Satan would have turned out...

Not really.
He said "I had nothing when I started this life, I suppose it's just fair I have nothing when I end this life."
Then he cried and wished he was never born.
Then he said "I don't understand why bad things happen to good people, but I trust God knows best and take what ever He in His great wisdom and goodness gives me. But F*CK IT HURTS!!!"

Job 1:20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
Job said in Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. 22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Job had enough fear of God, to know God was control, and still deserving of his worship.
Eventually God restored to Job even more than he had to begin with, because his faith did not waiver, even when tried to such degrees.

Kind of! What he really says is...
Mt 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.
And Psalms, 23, 27, and 91 along with MANY more prayers.
