wow! popular question!
anyway all you need to know is this:
so you like glenfiddich. you cant not like glenfiddich its the most accessable malt available, very nice and very light. good place to start. glenmorangie would be what id serve you next if you were in my pub. a little more complex but still very nice , smooth. next would be the Glenlivit. one of my favorites sometimes its almost a shame to swallow it! although the aftertaste is probably even better! highland park is also wonderful. my all time favorite is an Islay malt The Laphroig. its not to everyones taste as it is strong and peaty and smells like old leather almost. if you like that try bowmore too. Macallen is popular too though not one of my favs. think its the sherry casks that make it quite dark. still very nice though!

i dont know how you drink your glenfiddich. you can easily drink it straight, same with glenmorangie, but certainly with anything more complex id recommend adding a little water. not a lot - just a splash like 1:5 or 1:10 according to your taste. this wakes the whisky up a little and lets your tastebuds get at the flavour beyond the alcohol burn.

if you want something a bit cheaper you can buy a blend which should be about half the price. this is what you would get if you just ask for a whisky in a pub. best ones are Famous Grouse, Bells or Black Bottle. drink that 50:50 with water.

im sure you will have a lot of fun trying these out! cheers!

Since Glenfiddich is a Speyside, you may want to stick with that area, in which case Balvenie(double wood), Macallan, Strathisla, Glenlivet and Cardhu are all very good.

Cragganmore and Glenfarclas are also very good, but heavy on the sherry influences.

If you fancy widening your horizons a little, then a trip to Islay might be in order, Bowmore 12yo is highly recommended.

Elsewhere, there are a few gems that few seem to know about. Clynelish 14yo is a personal favourite, as is Glencadam and the already mentioned Glengoyne (17yo!!). The 12yo Dalmore is also extremely good, and under £25, as is Glengarioch.

The best thing about whisky is discovering what you like (and what you don't.) Whatever you buy - enjoy!

Single malt scotch like a 20yr old Balvenie is great. It's very smooth and has a rich, smoky flavor.

There is no such thing as a bad Scotch whiskey.
However, it depends on your taste - If you like glenfiddich then go for a single malt whiskey - but some blends are also very nice.
