There's an old cliche: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." Because it's such a familiar phrase, people will frequently edit it to make a joke.
(One punchline I saw on a little sign my mother has: "If at first you don't succeed, you're running about average!")

Wish I could 'skydrive'. It'd be the talk of any party.
Basically, if you don't have a tendency to succeed at something the first time, then something as tedious as skydiving will probably not be for you.

The literal meaning should be clear.
The meaning behind it would be that you should not overextend yourself beyond your limitations... Know your limitations and attempt to work within them or to reach beyond them in small steps...

lol. Because if you at first you don't succeed at skydiving then there is no second chance (you're dead). So, if at first you don't succeed at things, don't try sky diving or you'll die.
