its 9 am and shes on her 21st cigerette... What the ****? what am I supposed to do about this maniac? I can't even breath for gods sake. If i open a window she goes berserk and slams it then starts screaming at me.. If i talk to her about cutting back on them she starts swearing and cussing me out about how old she is and she has the right to smoke as many as she wants.... What the hell am I supposed to do for 5 months before I move out?

Unfortunatley it sounds like you're just going to have to tough it out until it's time to move. She's not going to change it since it sounds like she has been doing it for a long time. Maybe when she starts smoking go outside for a little bit and take a walk until she's done so that you can breathe since second hand smoking is the same as if you were smoking with her. But just think about how you get to move out because a lot of people cannot move out of difficult situations

yeah wow! this sucks!
have you tried talking to her about it!
not asking her to do anything but give you options on how you can breath easier!
just state it in a nice way!
something along the lines of
hey gram.. we need to find some common ground! My eyes are burning and I am having a hard time getting my breath.
I would love for you to stop smoking but that is wrong of me to ask! so i'm coming to you as an adult to adult looking for a way we can comprise!
some options i came up with is one room of the house let me ventilate and you don't smoke in! weather that be your room so be it!
as long as you have one place to go where it will be smoke free!
ask her for options ask her how can she help stop your eyes from burning and what ever else!
ask her for options!
this way she will feel as if your listening to her!
it helps!

Her place, her rules, her right to do whatever she wants. Buy yourself an air filter/purifier and put it in your room. You can also ask her, nicely, that is, not to smoke in your space.

Got a mobile phone? Call the police and tell them you're being held at your grandmother's house against your will.
If you're not being held against your will, and are free to leave, what's the problem?

Sugar has a good point.....it is her place. Try and see if you can work out a reasonable compromise for both of you with your Grandmother. If you cannot work things out, it's up to you to find another place.
best of luck to you!
