at least you're not cooking in a restaurant for a bunch of ungrateful baby customers. lots of people have to work tonight - and are glad of it. a job isn't something to ***** about - it isn't a right - it's a privlege. if you don't like the hours, quit and find something else.

No, it's a deciscion that they came to after seeing a need. It is to be commended that they didn't let favoritism stop them from making a decision that would be unpopular with the person involved.

Unfortunately I have had to suffer that in the past, but hey I'm a doctor now! Oh well, at least you will not have a hangover the next day. I'm looking for positives here.

Before I retired 2 yrs ago, I worked on many USA holidays, & I put in 38 years with my employer, hey working on a holiday, I got pay 2 1/2 Times the pay.

No more so than the Safety Coodinator for a municipality working on NY Eve. Or a retail worker. Or a fireman, or a police officer, or a soldier...

yes, but you can see how hard I am working as I am hanging out here. I think I am yet the only one in the building and there is nothing which really needs to be done.
