the earth is more like 6200 years old and I will have to ask God about the rest after I die. The problem with your 400 million year old stuff is that there is no way to accurately date that so you are just pulling a number out of thin air

The earth is not a few thousand years old. God created the heavens and the earth from the beginning - Genesis 1:1. The earth is as old as the heavens.

Well, I quit believing every thing I read and was told a long time ago. Which means that I am now a free thinker and no longer a puppet. Try it. You might like it.

The Bible does not speak of the age of the world nor is written to do so. Some people, however, by calculating lineage back to one of the Genesis creation stories have attempted to do this. The results have varied wildly from 6,000 to 10,000 yeats and are, of course, complete nonsense. To try to proof text Scripture is such a way is very foolish and ends up producing really silly "answers". The reason some people try to do this is that they hold a rigid literal/historical style of interpretation that does not permit any other methods of interpretation.

The Bible does not mention the age of the earth, only the beginning of mankind, made in the image of God. With this human creation, He gave specific dimensions to live within. One of them is, "Time". The earth was formed long before Adam ever walked upon it, thus explaining the 'dinos' and all the other 'etc.'
