Because you did something wrong and you are being punished for what you did! Just because you tell the truth, it doesn't excuse you for what you did. It means that in your heart you will know that you did the right thing by not lying, and it won't continue to hang over you through life. If you do something wrong remember you will always have to suffer the consequences of it. Lying about it only postpones the inevitable and the truth will ALWAYS come out, mostly when you least expect it.

saying the truth is one's own belief, what goes around will come around and nobody wants to hear gossip, i can imagine what some of my neighbors are doing, well so be it. i'm surely not going to ask them.

maybe ur way of saying the truth hurts the people who's around try to say it in a nice way, and u don't have to say it all.

you will learn later in life you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them, in other words sometimes its best to tell the truth and other times its best to tell a lie you just have to learn which is which.
