...and did you Kiwis realize that the Gilbertese living on Christmas Island celebrated it 15 minutes before you finally decided to get around to it? ;)

The 200 people living on Christmas Island generally don't make much of a fuss for New Years, even though they are the first place on the planet to celebrate New Year's; but that's no excuse for the rest of us not to celebrate it on their behalf.
