I was in Navy Boot Camp through Easter of 1985, and it was just another Sunday for us. It was during out last week of Boot Camp, so it was a lot more relaxed than it would have been if it was the first week, but we still were in Boot Camp, with no leave.

no no no no no it dosent mater what branch of the military your not guaranteed to get any holiday off (yes even Christmas) if your needed your needed if you call in sick you still have to go and you'd beter be on your death bead because they will still work you or if you are really sick make you come in and wate on a bed until your shift is over ESPECIALLY if your in basic training.

You might as well face the facts. You may get a few hours with the Chaplain that day. Maybe they let you go to the bowling alley or somewhere else to have fun for a few hours but don't expect much free time. There is very little down time on the training schedule when in basic training. The purpose is designed that way for a reason, to cram as much knowledge in you as possible and to break you from being a civilian. I wouldn't worry about your girl friend, especially if she is a Filipino. Plus, if you took a flight to PH, you would lose two days for traveling there and another returning to the U.S. Maybe you should use your training holiday in a spiritual way, something to give you guidance and direction in life when you are away from family and loved ones.

They don't give off for Christmas so they won't for Christmas. You will be able to make a few phone calls during boot camp, some RDCs let their divisions call home all the time. Sometime you can get leave during A school like long weekends and such but it depends on the school and how long it is. There is really no chance of going to the Philippines until after A school unless you go to a really long school. I know several people who have gone to the Phil on leave, you will likely be advised not to go but usually its not an issue.

Uhhh, NO
Oh and you may not get Christmas off ether.
Lets see, I was in 6 years and had one Christmas where I was not deployed.
As for the personal question, during training you may get some time off but don't have your fiance come out though it may be good to see her, there just isn't that much time. It is not like you will have a large block of time to spend with her even if you do not have duty.
Sugestion, just write and take leave after trainning. This may not be the answer you where wanting but it is an honest opionion.

Navy gets two weeks
Air Force gets three weeks.
Coast Guard gets a month.
Army has to work 12 on, 12 off so the civilians can take 2 months off.
Marines work 16 hours, just because.

No. and you can call your girl friend from boot camp via a pay phone, or atleast you could when I went. But that is usually a very fast call, and only happens a few times after @ the 4th week.
But you can bet as every Sunday you can go to Church.
