It's never too late to start skating - even at 18/19 years young.
I started skating in my mid 20's. I started with group lessons (with other "adults" - and a few were older than me!) . . . then I got a private coach . . . and I went on to doing tons of competitions. So yes, it is possible!!
There are other skaters I know who started in their senior years. No telling them they're too old!!! Many of them have competed as well!
Competitions aren't all about programs to music. There are events where they are just "elements". So really there are competitions for all ages and skill levels - even beginners. There is a whole world of adult skating too (we have our own Adult Nationals and a couple International competitions too!). Read this about adult skating if you have a chance.

Best of luck - and happy early birthday too!

You can certainly learn to skate and compete. There is not age that you aren't allowed to compete anymore so why not follow your dreams? Good luck!

your not old but you should wait until your in freestyle to compete because you get trophies then but if you compete at a amateur level you only get kind of like a badge thing

Nope, you wouldn't be too old! You're never too old to do things like that. I just wish I had the courage to take something such as ice skating up, even though I can't even skate on roller blades, haha.
