Fosters is about as Australian as Guinness is Irish, both are brewed in Canada/Jamaica.
Coopers is probably the only widely available truly Australian beer I can think of that's alright. A lot of Australian brewers use a hop strain called "Pride Of Ringwood" that has a love/hate relationship in the beer world, I'm on the not diggin' it side.
Coopers also makes several homebrewing products so I'll give them a nod for that although, again, none of them are quite to my liking.
