They probably feel ashamed quite often, but if the fundamentalists ever gain political power, the other sects will be right behind them saying "We've been backing you all the way."

Yes they do.
I feel ashamed when SOME fundamentalist Christians treat others with contempt and no sympathy or love, show hatred of people of other faiths, and condemn people (as if they were God Himself) to hell for this or that sin. If they truly are concerned about others salvation their attitude is more likely to repel than to attract someone to their belief.

I also can't understand the "Christians" who put a big emphasis on wealth, even like it is some kind of sign of virtue.

Frankly I think that if lot of the people who call themselves Christian today had lived back at the time when the radical young teacher Jesus was criticizing the religious establishment and telling people to give their money to the poor..... they would have been among the crowd yelling "Crucify him!"

More importantly is the Almighty ashamed? Rom.2:24 says the name of YHVH is blasphemed among the nations because of you- referring to "believers" who are doing wrong things.

Not sure what you mean. I do not feel shame for the behavior of another. I know who Jesus is and what Christianity is about. How another represents it.....especially if it is in error....is not something I take responsibility for. I am only responsible for my own behavior.

That would be like saying, if you are an atheist, are you ashamed when other atheists are snide and nasty? People are responsible for their own actions.

Why should anyone feel ashamed for someone else's actions?

I think they just blame every thing on satan. Just today the cold blooded killers Mom from washington state said her son hated guns and was a fine christian boy. Shame is not something that most Christians understand.

We should feel ashamed of anything we do which disgraces the name of Jesus Christ. This includes humanity in general, you, me.....everyone.
