My lower back has been uncomfortably sore for over a week. It feels like intense muscle soreness (like after a hard workout, which is how I think it started). I've tried getting lots of sleep, static stretching, asprin, massage, and complaining.

Soreness tells me it's muscular, what have you been doing? a fall, you pulled a muscle, etc.
Try a heating pad, or ice packs. Either one may work. Sleep with a pillow under your knees for awhile.

If all fails after a week or so, see your doctor. I can't tell you what to take, that's unethical and, I don't know you or your position. Enough about you.

Try ibuprofen instead of aspirin. Also warm shower with the water running on where it hurts the most. Hot packs will work too. Hope you feel better soon and have a Happy New Year.
