Back pain, but particularly my mid-upper left back, just barely to the left of my spine. It is getting increasingly worse by the week.

If back pain were deadly, I'd have been a goner 40 years ago. You may have a disc problem or muscle spasms. See
an orthopedic specialist if this continues.

Instead of having a wallet removal procedure at the hospital.
Removed her spleen, don't you just love it.
Buy a new mattress. Shut off the A/C, its cooling your back too much while you sleep.
Get a better chair to sit in.
Chances are it is caused from poor posture.
Maybe while on the computer, watching TV, or sleeping on the couch.
Maybe your job sucks, or maybe you don't have one.
Stretch your body regularly, walk, jog, swim.
Well, you get the idea.

No you are not dying - sounds to me like you have pinched a nerve, or the like - go and see a physiotherapist or masseur.

It will only get worse due to stiffness and you compensating for it - get it dealt with before you find any movement difficult.

No you aren't. But you are going crazy if you think it is better to post a question like that on here, rather than going to see a doctor. Go now.

Symptoms are a sign and a warning of your body that something is wrong. Every little thing, such as a cough, is a sign of potential trouble. It is utterly important for you to go to the hospital and get it checked out before it is too late. I work at the hospital as a nurse and I see tons of people who come in too late and regret it. If you can't afford to go to the hospital, please go to a free clinic and get yourself checked out. Also, don't rule out a chiropractor. They specialize in joint, bone, and other pains in that area.

ask your doctor....if you haven't had any history of injury to that area before it might just be a muscle spasm

Dying or not, is not the question, ALL WILL.
Do your best to be healthy till the last min.
GETTING INCREASINGLY WORSE, THEN YOU HAVE TO SEE A DOCTOR

Yes go see your doctor, I had horrible back pains for about a week or two, I saw my doctor and ended up getting my spleen removed! One thing leads to another.
