You could try adjusting the brightness/contrast, or use the curves. Also, look through the filters. There maybe a 'warm' style filter.
Another option, and I think that I would do this, is convert to B&W, and give it a high contrast look.

Good luck.
ps. You could also try adjusting Hue or saturation.

You can try levels or shadow/highlights but I can tell you it's much easier to shoot it properly in the first place.

Here's a page on the subject:

Hope this helps.

First of all ... ALWAYS adjust LEVELS before you do anything else!

You should probably do this to the overall image, and then select the problem area, copy it, paste it to a new layer and continue adjusting.

In CS2, brightness and contrast controls aren't much help. Levels do density adjustments much better.

Those hot spots are more problematic. There, you'll need to develop your skills with the Clone and Heal tools to get them under control.

Use levels or curves in a layer to darken the person's face, or the entire image if necessary. If there are blown highlights (very likely if the face is over-flashed) they will not be recovered. You could try the clone stamp at low opacity or the healing brush to add in some skin texture. The best result would be to control the flash, by diffusion or bouncing. In p&s cameras, that can be hard to do.
