Rerun the scan to see what files it find, try setting it to only run on a folder tree, NOT whole hard drive.
Look at the files it says it will be able to recover
Decide if the files are worth the money

Then next time remember the 3 rules of computing
1 : BACKUP
2 : BACKUP again
3 : Make sure you're BACKUP works !

You can try the freeware UNdelete for recovering the data from the system. It is as effective as any paid version.

There are some free file recovery programs out there but very limited. You have to enter the filename or file extension one by one and will take you years to finish if you are recovering many files and worst if you forgot the name but of course if it is a important file then you'll surely remember its name. And also yes recovery program does work I tried it my self. Unfortunately recovering over 500mb has a very low chance of recovering it. Just make sure that you are using a credible recovery software.
