Can't find a definite answers from many Buddhists (both monks and lay-people) as many replies contradict themselves. From the people I spoke with, most don't even understand the concept of evolution. From what I understand, Buddhist are to accept their Dharma (duty) as defined by Buddha and the Sangha which stuns critical thinking as it will challenge 'the three jewels - Buddha, Dharma, the Sangha'.
True, as interesting as it is to know how the first humans came about (in any cosmology), in the end the important things is that we are in the here and now and have to deal with the present the best we can.

Two things
1. Everybody else siad above, irrelevant
2. But also, we don't know how human life began, that's why there is nothing to say about it. You can't say something and assume that it is true.

Buddhists don't really concern themselves with how life began, or even how it will end. They focus on the here and now and try to live good lives. If your concerned about such things, then this isn't a religion for you.

The Buddha never speculated on it. He considered it irrelevant to the path toward spiritual wisdom.

To contemplate these things are a hindrance. There is no answer.

Focus you energy on your life (spirit) path and let fools ponder the origins and futures of life.

Find your path and, don't forget to breathe...
