My aunt is going into my room when I am gone and taking money. I caught her on camera and do not know what to do. Should I get the police involved or any other suggestions?

Have the entire family over for a new years eve party and play the tape right after the ball drops and everyones done kissing.

Announce your new years resolution. "I want to make sure my aunt doesn't STEAL anything ever again" and then play the tape for the whole family to see. Let the whole family decide what to do at that point. I guarantee you she doesn't steal anything from family again, I can ssure you.

Its up to you if you want to get the cops involved. If you do then call the cops, tell them about the domestic theft situation, sign complaints, and give them a copy of whatever evidence you have so they can inventory it for court purposes, and show up for court to plea your case.

Don't leave money in your room.
If you do, then hide it better.
Ever thought of opening a bank account?
Unless it's a large sum of money, I doubt the Police will do much to her. A judge might order her to pay it back & put her on a 3 year probation. If she does anything illegal within those 3 years, then she goes to jail!
Can you put a lock on your door to keep her out? That would be a "quick fix"!
Depending on her age, it just might not be worth pursuing with law enforcement. If she's under 50, then perhaps you could have a sit-down with her & another trusted family member that is close to her age & let her know how you feel & tell her it stops now or you will give the tape to the authorities! Then put it in a safe deposit box! Cuz you know she's gonna try to steal it too!

WOW:
HOW MUCH WE TALKING ABOUT. CHUMP CHANGE EACH DAY OR 100'S OF DOLLARS?
1) WHY IS YOUR AUNT WITH YOU, OR YOU WITH HER, OR BOTH WITH PARENTS??
2) DOES SHE HAVE A MENTAL INCAPACITY STATE OF MIND?(CRIMINAL INTENT?)

TAKE THE TAPE TO HER AND SAY I GOT YA IF YOU LIVE WITH HER?
IF YOU ALL LIVE WITH YOUR MOM AND DAD. CONFRONT THEM WITH THE VIDEO?

Confront her first; if you threaten to call the cops she will probably just give it back.
