I just finished a my geometry class and can honestly say that this was the best class ever!
I loved the proof we did. I can now argue, at least in geometry, in such a way that I cant lose! I know thats not much but i want to apply this way of thinking to other aspects of my life. I finished at the top of my class only because i memorized each and every theorem, axiom, corolary and definition. Also, I made sure I fully understood each. Now I can see and have a way of forcing my mind to logically go from one piece of knowledge to a conclusion that is irrefutable (at least in geometry) .
I want to know if this line of thinking has been applied to the existance of God.
Man, this class was fun.

I guess my teacher was right about math...not many people get it, know it, correctly use it or can even pass a basic algebra class.
I dont understand why some of you gave bizzare, arrogant and insulting answers.
I guess you really dont understand math. when i say i can argue in an irrefutable way in geometry that is not to say i think im a big shot. it just means that i can write a proof. if the proof is correct then it has no holes. thats all. also , its only in geometry. not life in general...i think i did say that.

This is an excellent question! The other answers fail to see the point your making. Mathematics is not only numbers its a language. A language that requires meticulous logic and cannot be refuted when accurate. It would have been considered hierarchy by the church for scientists in the days of Blaise Pascel to suggest that planetary motion and gravity could be explained with math.
I don't believe in God, and I'm horrible at math. But this is an excellent question. I wonder if it can ever be proved through the language of mathematics that an all powerful being could never exist? Perhaps it would be an equation involving energy, time, space?

Wow, we'll all form a line to talk to the person who cannot be proven wrong, ever! I'll be somewhere over here...on the edge of my seat.
Perhaps you should take some other classes besides Geometry. When you come onto Y!A R&S and declare that you can argue in a way that you can't lose and would like to use this on God, you open yourself up, kiddo. If you don't want people to think you are bragging, perhaps you shouldn't brag. If you want to discuss math strictly, perhaps you shouldn't invoke proving god in this section. Go to the math section, genius. Try growing up a little instead of posting ridiculous things on here and then whining when you are insulted for posting ridiculous things.

Sure you can! You should look into the geometries seen in the cosmos, and why, mathematically, the shapes we see prove that the universe is nowhere near as old as atheists like to claim. (For example, the extrinsic spiral shape of the galaxies.)
There is nothing but pattern in this universe. (fractal geometry) The atheists like to claim that these patterns were somehow produced by some absolute random process. This is ridiculous. Absolute random processes cannot produce patterns, and perbutations in chaotic dynamical systems are actually non-random. The concept of randomness actually comes from our own inability to know the complete state of an event at every moment in time. This would require an infinately fast brain.
What you can show mathematically is that the universe could not have come into existence through random processes on its own. And, in that case, the only logical, scientific conclusion is that it must have been created by some outside intelligence. Then, the existence of God cannot be ruled out.

Yes, logic has been used to "prove" the existence of God, at least as far as it can. Unfortunately, there is always a gap, some necessary assumption that must be allowed, untested, for the proof to go forward. Failing that, one of the tests would be a semantic illusion, such as in Anselm's ontological argument.
Try it yourself. It can't be done without cheating.

I took a philosophy class in college and the professor claimed to be able to prove the existence of God using logic. It seemed a little wacky at the time, and since then I've spoken with other philosophy majors, and they unanimously concluded that he was nuts.
I'm not saying it's impossible...but this guy seemed to think he had done it. Maybe it is possible to do. I doubt it though. I'm an agnostic. I just don't think we know enough to even know what we don't know.

There are actually people who have tried. the movie number 23 is based on that http://afgen.com/numbr23b.html. The question is, is the number evil or good? There are also some people in the Jewish sect that have been using numbers to break down the bible. Try watching the move Pi. the sign of Pi in geomentry is the actual name of the movie. Many others have tried from Einstein to people we would have never heard of. At the very least you will get two good movies to watch out of this post. you never know, maybe you will be the one to figure it out. Just don't go crazy doing it.

Is it mathematically possible to prove that God exists?
Here, take this grapefruit and a pile of banana leaves and build a replica of the Titanic while I think about the answer.
Math formulas solve math problems. Theological tools equip you to study theological concepts. The difference between the two is that with math we can measure the finite--with theology, we attempt to plumb the depths of the infinite.

You are not smart at all. No one can prove a human invented entity like a god to be real or true or that it exists.
You should use your logical mind to see why god cannot be real by examing what a god suppose to be like.
Example, ask this question, can god see his own future?
What is future when we use the word for future?
Does a god have a future? If it is infinite then should god have a fututre?
Can an infinite dvd recorder record an infinite god's existence of his infinite time?

Yes , it is.
Here is the example;
1 + 1 = 1;
1 measure of vodka and 1 measure of lime , you get 1 cup of nice vodka lime. Therefore, God exist.
