You were there, how come you didn't do anything? If you tell me that God doesn't exist because he didn't prevent a tragedy, okay fine that is what you say.

However someone was there. "Someone" does exist, so where was that someone? People like Hitler, Pol Pot, and other tyrants did not act alone, they had a lot of people who followed them; believed in what they stood for.

So if you say God wasn't there because God doesn't exist. Then what of the people who were there? How come they didn't prevent the wrongs against man?

Edit:

There is around them when they were starting their crazed rants. Someone in the crowd had to think "Hey this man freaking crazy".

Addition:
People did something only after they caused a lot of damage and rose to power. They didn't get to their level of leadership overnight and behind closed doors.

Phree:

I am taking God out of equation and throwing a typical question directed to theist back at atheists. So now that God is there and we now both agree on this, we can both agree that man was there during those times. Someone was there? So why did people wait until the problem got so bad to help anyone?

Correction:

"So now that God is not there"

It's all pat of the bigger picture. The way I see it, whatever has happened in history, whether good or bad, has a reason. Same goes for things in life today. Sometimes bad things happen. but they are all part of the bigger picture. If only good things happened, first of all, people would feel like they wouldn't need to be faithful to God, because they get the good stuff anyways, so people would stop believing. Second, since when do a lot of us know what we really want. Sometimes things that we think are bad happen, but because of that, more good came from it. Hitler being a tyrant caused us to go in and get him. And that helped a lot of people. It still may have been a tragedy yes. But anyone who causes things like that to happen will pay for it. I think we all know where Hitler is now. Some people blame God for many of their problems. However, many times it is only our own ways that cause pain for others or ourselves. Satan has a hand in things as well. Remember, he tempts us at every turn, and every chance he gets. So it wasn't just Hitler and his followers, but also Satan, for he destroys what he can, whenever he can. The good people that believed are in Heaven, despite the tragedies that have struck them. The evil people that followed Hitler and were tempted by Satan are in Hell, where they probably don't like it very much. So the way I see it. In a way, death can save people from a life of suffering. When it is our time to go and our work is done on Earth, we die and are sent upwards if our faith is true. My heart goes out to those who were good, but had no faith. God does what is best, for we are his creation, molded in his image. If he would give his son Jesus to save us from ourselves, he must be looking out for our best needs. The only thing we need to do is believe that this is true.

Well, that is one the arguments used against arguing Christians. 'There is way too much sadness in the world to be a god.'

Why did people not prevent them? Some tried. And they were killed. Not all Soviets belived in socialism. And what happened when they tried to speak out? They were eliminated. However, eventually these people got the better of their opressors, as have all the opressed.

If God isn't there then Satan will be. Good vs Evil. We see it every day in life. There is a war going on in the spiritual and physical world. Example: Can you explain some thoughts that come in your head all of a sudden that doesn't pertain to what you are doing or feeling at that moment? To many dejavu experiences to explain?

Are you suggesting that god DOES exists because man created problems, and war, and chose to act on hate, and then (according to you) did not do anything about the problems they created? Such a convincing argument. I'm sure this logic made sense in YOUR mind, too bad you didn't leave it there.

Bobo....: Please read YOUR bible, plenty of people questioned god so who are YOU to tell anyone not to...hell even if they didn't question god in the bible, who are you to tell anyone what to do. Oh, wait because if they don't stop you'll get really mad....like anyone really gives a damn

Um...Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean that I believe man is God-like...Human nature exists with or without God

After reading your edits, I've decided I'm debating with an idiot. That's pretty much a waste of time because no amount of reason could possibly make sense to you in your head.

Where is "there"? I don't mean this to be an insult, but your question is a bit hard to understand. Supply more info please so I can answer. Thanks

Heck I don't believe I'm really any closer to understanding, but crap happens I suppose. There are people in this world who have the power to influence other individuals who are "there" no matter how deranged they are. God has been and always will be here, He chooses to act according to His will.

The sheep mentality of the mob, and hell rouses the rabble to a frenzied hateful demon, drowning out the voices of the good and the godly. And another heavenly soul dies.

Um, I don't blame god/s for ignorant, uncaring people's actions.
I also don't blame god for famine, tragedy, malnutrition, floods, hurricanes...etc......
BUT, if you say there is a god, then what of those?? All the answers I get stem around those people not believeing in god (false in most cases) or a 'sinful world' which is a bit harsh of any god/s

Alot of people don't care about anybody but themselves. They act nice to your face, but they could care less. They're looking out for themselves. When a realative is close to death, they are like valtures waiting to start grabbing everything. LOL I can see right througgh them. Some of them claim to be christian and they're worse than the none believers. Backstabers, backbiters. Looking down their noses at you!

I don't believe there is a god, and it has nothing to do with whether or not a tragedy was stopped.
