We perceive him as human because we cannot comprehend anything higher. In our society humans are the most advanced beings and anything higher is usually imaginary and since people do not want to think of him as imaginary they picture him as human. His son was human because to help humanity he himself had to be human

I think it has to go back to earlier religions where humans were seeking God to worship. They made idols first like animals and attribute these animals into Idol Gods like the Sun God.
An image of God is easier to worship and see if it has form like a body.
This is why Jesus became a God even if he was a man. In Greek religion, humans actually are Gods in a way because they looked exactly like humans but bigger and live above the clouds.
In Christianity, they even say Jesus, Holy Ghost and this Father God sit side by side ruled over heaven as one whole entity. They even talk to each other while ruling this heaven.
This is not fake or made up. It is in the bible. 3 entities sitting side by side like if they were humans with human forms. The word sitting side by side is the hint.
God sits means there must be gravity. How does an all mighty God rule heaven is another interesting question. Why rule when it is so powerful? Strange?
Human inventions are very strange.

Holy men of God, by the Holy Spirit, were inspired to pen the holy scriptures by which we know that man was created in the image of God and that God came to earth in the form of the son of God, to die on the cross for the sin of man.
God is not a concept.
If by any circumstances human kind were wiped off this planet, it would not change the fact that God is the creator and maker of all things.

NO Christians think that God is human!!!! God is God, spirit, Jesus was God in the flesh. HE became human so we could have a sacrifice that would cover our sins for all eternity.

The Son is a part of the whole. God did not reproduce as a man reproduces. The Son became flesh to overcome temptaiton as a man and to remain perfect and to overcome sin and death.
God is righteous and all knowing he does not weigh sin as in some sin is okay he does not overlook sin and God is all knowing and did surely know man would sin.
God had a plan of salvation before he created man.
God's plan is to bring his creation to his righteousness not to join man in man's sin.
There is only one way and Jesus told us he is the way and the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but through the Son.

First of all, God created man in His own image: “So God created man in His [own] image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27) So we God is the prototype for who we are.
Secondly, Jesus, being God in the flesh, came to earth in the form of a human being. He did this so we would know how much God loves us, and also so we could know that Jesus understands how difficult it is to be human and resist temptation.
Finally, people have actually seen visions of God and have seen Him in dreams. Almost unanimously God has a form similar to ours, except that He is made of light and glory. (I understand that Jesus did not even cast a shadow when He was on earth.) This God wants us to call Him “Father” and a parent will be very similar to his offspring.

Who's we? God as human? Can you explain? Who perceives God as "Human". He wouldn't be a God if we thought of him as human. Your question is very oxymoronic. Delete it and make a new one that makes sense.

God is never human cos if god is human, he is no better than us... making mistakes and the rule no one is perfect fits exactly into the sentence... So god is the creator, the almighty powerful being, substance, energy or rather manifestation which creates everything in this world....
