Hey...if your gf or bf kept on an online journal and a paper one and would never let you ready any of it.....would that bother you at all? Even after they say they trust you, love you, and want to spend the rest of their lives with you?

Would you let your girlfriend read yours? Or do you like a little private place to record your thoughts n fantasies n deeds?

I guess everyone needs a little area to themselves that's not immediately on display to anyone else, even their partner.

Trust, love, n spending the rest of your life with someone doesn't mean giving up the right to privacy in some areas. So NO

No it wouldn't and I'll tell you why....
I wouldn't be bothered because its the same thing as not knowing what is truly going on someone else's mind. You only know what they want you to know ultimately. If the relationship is basically good then be happy with that. Like the old saying states --- "don't go looking for snake when you know you're afraid of being bitten by them". It only comes down to one thing really, you either trust him or you don't. Don't let the mystery of written words get the best of you, for it is the same thing as keeping it in ones head and not speaking of it.

Journals are PRIVATE. It's the one place he can go to really work out his feelings. I have been with my husband for 21 years, I trust him and love him, but I'd NEVER let him read my journal.

Journals are PRIVATE!

Thats a good question........ but honestly if i was with someone who did this i would feel that maybe that was there way of venting or not keeping things bottled up and thats not a bad thing. If you trust this person then just leave it alone..... There is no harm in a journal.....

A journal is a very personal thing. I would never let anyone read it. It's a person's deep thoughts... they write in it BECAUSE they don't want to tell anyone.
Don't let it get to you. It's nothing personal towards you.

The suspiscion(of what is in the book) would bother me, but if you love some one (securely) you would respect their privacy, even if you plan to be with them forever. Married couples need their own space and their own identity.

I had an ex who went through my book of personal poetry I never forgave him, it showed me how disrespectful he was of me, and how immature he was. We're not together anymore.

Your significant other does not have to know everything about you. If you trust this person, don't worry about it. That is a personal thing. Let them have their space. TRUST is the main point here.
