As somebody who've accomplished Marine Corps Boot Camp and accomplished Marine Infantry college, i can allow you recognize understand little or no relating to the Marine Corps. at the start the Corps Boot Camp is longer than the army's and the Corps have all styles of coaching faculties after Boot Camp. women folk do no longer practice comparable to men and are not with them in Boot Camp like the army. Marines practice aboard ships and each and each infantry marine shoot at table sure targets as some distance away as 500m besides as pop ups. i will no longer be able to objective and bypass by using all the education that a marine could desire to comprehensive yet i visit declare that the army is a superb branch however the Marine Corps are greater effective knowledgeable for conflict hands down.

Like someone else said, as long as you have a honorable discharge and an acceptable reenlistment code on your DD214 you should have no problem. You will have to go to Marine Corps boot camp and you will probably not be able to retain the rank you gained in the Army.

Yes. As long as you are physically and mentally qualified and meet all other criteria for Marine Corps enlistment, you can go to Marine boot and earn your EGA.

Contact the Corps directly.
http://www.marines.com/page/Lead-Form.jsp
They can provide you with better facts than a bunch of opinions.
Shame to lose a good Soldier, but everyone makes their own way in life. I'm sure you will make a quality Marine.
Good luck to you!

You can try.
However, lets say you are an E4 in the Army. There is no reason for the Marines to take you at that same rank. They could take you as a raw recruit and you would have to start at E1 again.
Also, the various branches put a great amount of pride in PRIDE IN THEIR SERVICE. You are being a "traitor" to the Army. If you do get into the Marines, I would shut up about having been in the Army.
Lastly, your enlistment in the Army was for EIGHT years. If you are talking about finishing up your four years of active service and then going into the Marines, you will need permission from the Army to do it. You still have four years reserves in the Army on the contract. You can not be in the reserves in one branch and on active duty in another. The Army would have to release you from your contract for those four years. Why would the Army do that?
