Depends on who's footing the bill and whoever is, is it enough to cover stuff to do like take em to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland. If you can't afford that, then Universal Studios is fun, the Aquarium of the Pacific, Santa Monica Pier. I don't know where you live so - the ones I mentioned are in Cali, so if you live anywhere else, take them to Dave and Busters or something like that where there's arcades, games, roller coaster rides, carnivals, I'd suggest more but like I said I don't know where you live. Based on their ages ranges you are going to have your hands full because the teenagers 13-16 will want to do their thing and the others you'll habve to keep a closer eye on. I feel for you, hope you have some help and hope that you come back with your sanity!

Well Mary, I don't know where you live, but if there are any zoos around, they might enjoy that. A video arcade, virtual reality arcade or laser gun arcade could work too. There are always the old stand bys of bowling or a swimming pool. Kids that age tend to like music, so any all-ages performances might be appealing. Pro or college basketball or hockey in the area?

Wherever you live there are bound to be plenty of things for kids to do. Check the local paper, the city's website, or even the bulletin boards at Starbucks.

That's quite an age range to try and find a "one size fit's all" answer.

Much depends on where you are, and what their tastes are. Here in Seattle, for example, an afternoon on a cross-sound ferry is a great way to see part of the area (and if you walk on, it's mighty cheap, too). Ice or roller skating, depending on what's availible nearby, can be a good one too. I agree that hanging out at the house watching the idiot box all day isn't a great way to spend the time.

You are not saying where you live, and that can make a big difference, especially in the wintertime.

But, I'd recommend taking them to an indoor family fun center. What about bowling
What about a video arcade
Take them with you to the local video store and have a big slumber party in the living room with them watching movies and popping popcorn
Go to the store and buy some videos
Go tobogganing

Get a tourist guide book for your city (and surrounding cities).

Chances are, there's plenty to do if you know where to look.

Also, there are local papers at coffee shops and book stores. It will tell you what's going on in your area.

Look into:
Amusement parks
Regular parks (Parks and Recreation sometimes has activities)
Arcades
Paint ball
Find a place to race those little cars
Get some Mentos and Diet Coke (look it up on the internet if your not familiar)

ummm a fun place to go is like a dave and busters or espn zone if you have any of those by your house if not maybe to an ice rink for open skate or to a skate park if they are into that stuff. taking them to go see a movie would work well too next time say where you live around and people will be more specific

Movies, swimming, skating, tobogganing, skateboard park, arcade or amusement park. Pick up a couple of board games to play at night. Check your local paper for any special activities or events throughout the city during that time. The list goes on and on.

You can't take 10 year old kids and 16 year old kids to the same places! Bring them to the mall and give them each some money. They'll have a great time.
