You still have the choice to not do it, though you will, because it is divine will, thought there is still free will, but predestination...
Makes sense, huh? To me neither.

God's plan for us is already laid out before us. For us to accept his plan is a totally different matter. Yes, God knows what you will do before you do it but that doesn't change the fact that you have free will and God can't change that. This is what is determined as destiny. What you make of your life is your destiny. If you are saved, then you are destined to be in Heaven when Jesus comes. If you are not saved, then you are destined to be cut off from God after the day of judgment.
Everyone has a judgment day - Christians and non-Christians. We all have fallen short. Jesus is the one who redeems us.

First of all, you say you have, "heard" that whatever happens is God's divine plan. That is a societal expression and not the Word of God...the Holy Bible.
There are Christians who do believe in what is called, "double predestination", reading the scriptures about God's foreknowledge as meaning that God divinely decided beforehand who and who would not go to hell or heaven. In this gloomy view, no one does have a choice.
There are other Christians who believe that every person must of their own God-given free-will make a decision to follow Jesus. This sometimes leaves some immature Christians with a fear that they must not have really made a decision with their whole heart when they still find themselves falling into sin.
Those Christians who understand God's foreknowledge to mean that He knows but does NOT destin who will go to hell and who won't; believe that it is Grace through Faith that determines how a person is saved from hell. Believing in Jesus is something that God gives to the seeker and hearer or His Word. "Faith comes by hearing the Word of God." God Himself enkindles faith in our hearts, we do not make ourselves believe. How could we? We were, "dead in trespass and sin". A dead person can not make any decisions.
Now as to whether you could do anything to send you to hell; we are all dead before we were saved and born with the stain of sin from our mother's womb. Even if you are the type of Christian who does not believe in original sin...you know full well that you have sinned every day of your life:
1. You have loved other things, people, places and self much more than you have loved God.
2. You have loved other things, places and self much more than you have loved other people.
Jesus said to Love God with all your heart, soul and body and to love other people as you love yourself. He said that these 2 commands encompassed the whole of God's commandments. Thus, "we have all sinned and fallen short or the glory of God." All of us have done, and do and will do things that should by all rights send us to hell.
Romans Chapter 7, verses 14-the end of the chapter tells of the constant struggle that we ALL have with sin and asks, "who will save me from this body of death?" It ends by saying, "thank God through Jesus Christ." and then in Chapter 8 goes on to say, "there is NO condemnation to those in Christ" and that good comes from everything in the life of the Christian and "that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God!"
How can this be? God is pure and holy...like a white high-gloss enamel wall. One tiny drop of beige shows up, even ordinary flat white looks out of place on such a wall. Since God's holiness cannot be diluted, and since God loves us soooooo much; He had to keep His purity by making us pure too.
Objectively, since Jesus "died for all; the sins of the whole world", all people have been declared righteous in God's eyes when He looks at us through the sinless life and death of Jesus.
Then, you may ask, does anyone go to hell? There are Christians who say that even the devil might be saved in the end because God is love. I don't think so, but I don't know for sure. I believe that in order to go to hell, a person has to reject Christ out of hand.

That is one of the problems with an omnipotent god, He made everything including sin and gave us free will but knows everything that will ever happen to us. That's not free will, that is destiny. How is it that I am going to be held responsible for something an incompetent god created in the first place. I demand that god be put on trial for crimes against humanity/

Christian Universalism does not teach the existence of an eternal hell. While the purifying fires of hell may be a for a very long time (aionus), they are to burn away the satanic ego. No good parents punishes their child for eternity for a finite crime. Jesus' sacrifice is meant to save us from death and is for all. Destiny: "It is APPOINTED unto man once to die..." You can't do anything about it...period
Judgment: Giving account for YOUR personal actions and being rewarded or punished for them accordingly. You CAN do something about that. God has given us all the right to CHOOSE how we live, and has outlined in His word the rewards for doing right, and the punishments for doing wrong. What you do is up to you. How you're punished or rewarded is decided. You Choose!

I personally believe that God gives us the free will to make our own decisions and holds us accountable for our actions. I do not believe that God would predestine anyone to hell, because he is a loving God, just and merciful.
I am sure someone will reply saying "well what about katrina?"

Excellent Question.
You are really asking about the issue of Pre-destination versus Free Will.
It's a very, VERY complicated question, and scholars cannot arrive at any conclusion.
Ask your minister, and believe what you will, because it does not matter. All that matters is, do you know Jesus as your personal Christ, and have you believed on Him?
All else falls by the wayside, and putting anything before this is folley.
May God guide your questioning, and bless you.
