Logos is translated as "Logic" in all of the Greek Philosophical writings of Plato, Aristotle, and Heraclitus. The term is rather all-encompassing and can mean Divine Logic, Order, or Principle. The only current language with a direct translation to the term Logos is Chinese. Logos directly translates to Tao. Logos has never translated to "word". This is the most commonly accepted mistranslation in the Bible.

It's a philosophical concept. Roughly it means "The Word".

It has NOTHING to do with Pathos or Ethos; same word, different meaning. The actual meaning of Logos is oft debated, and an attempt to correlate monotheistic thought to a polytheistic philosopher society (Greece).

In other words: No ones sure what it really means. Different Christian sects say different things.

Interesting fact: It's often translated to Tao (As in Taoism) in some Chinese bibles.

(Greek: "word," "reason," "plan") In Greek philosophy and theology, the divine reason that orders the cosmos and gives it form and meaning. The concept is found in the writings of Heracleitus (6th century BC) and in Persian, Indian, and Egyptian philosophical and theological systems as well. It is particularly significant in Christian theology, where it is used to describe the role of Jesus as the principle of God active in the creation and ordering of the cosmos and in the revelation of the divine plan of salvation. This is most clearly stated in the Gospel of John the Apostle, which identifies Christ as the Word (Logos) made flesh.

Logos is a Greek word that means "Creative Word".

In my tradition Jesus (or Yeshua as his name really is in Aramaic) is not Logos. Logos is a state of consciousness. Jesus embodied Logos, but he was also the man Yeshua.

That's easy... Guys are intimidated and girls are jealous of how stunningly beautiful you are. Most people assume that you're stuck up. Goes to show you that you can't judge a book by it's cover. Most of the girls I date have very similar features and get the same responses. Don't change a thing about yourself, but get used to people having the wrong impression. The ones worth knowing will take the time to find out that you are kind and caring.

Logos is one of the most difficult Greek words to properly translate in English.

It can mean word, speech, story in a literal sense.

But it actually refers to humanity's special ability to capture thought with language. It can thus be extended to mean understanding.

It's a different connotation of the Greek word -- see the beginning of the Gospel of John: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
