People ask what would convince me that god truly exists. While I am not sure, I am certainly open to any tangible evidence. I do not know what evidence would convince me because I believe it is impossible to prove the existence of god. What evidence would convince you that god does not exist? See the conumdrum: it is difficult to answer their question! See falsifiability (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falsifiability ) and Rules of Evidence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_of_evidence ) for more information.
Do not quote bible passages as evidence of god's existence. This is my standard of proof, not yours. However, if proof were proffered that convinced me god exists, I would change absolutely nothing in my life or my behavior. The existence or not of god does not matter. Like many humans I live a purposeful life and god does not add more purpose.

What if evidence were produced that convinced you god does not exist with certainty (evidence according to your standards of proof)? What would you change in your life?
- Would you stop evangelizing?
- Would you start sinning more?
- Would you stop helping those less fortunate than you?
- Would you feel that life is meaningless?

- Would you stop evangelizing?
I never try to evangelize, I only explain my beliefs in an answer to a question if they are relevant to the question or the questioner is asking a question about the beliefs of my religion
- Would you start sinning more?
I don't know. I probably wouldn't be as strict with some things as I am now, in all honesty. But I know I wouldn't be some moral-less creep-ball. I'd still keep the morals of my religion.
- Would you stop helping those less fortunate than you?
Nope. Helping people is one of the things that gives me the greatest joy in life. I love it. There's no feeling better than knowing you improved someone else's life.
- Would you feel that life is meaningless?
Naw. I'd focus on teaching my kids (when I have them) good values in hopes that they'd grow up to be a positive contribution to this world. And I'd probably try to learn as much as possible before I kicked the bucket. And I'd do what I could to make this place better.

First and foremost let me just say that I love this question, it's great, to be able to debate life's mysteries. Well then Jesus Christ did exist, and I will prove my case without one single passage.
1. The discovery of King Solomons Gates, the first archaeological proof ever found for the Bible http://www.kingsolomonsgate.com/Hz/
2. Noah's Ark Found
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=2133311&page=1
3. The Spear of Destiny which was used to stab Jesus Christ in his side when being crucified is displayed at the Hofsburg museum in Austria
http://ourworld.cs.com/argentprime/spear.htm
4. The Shroud of Turin

If in the end you still believe otherwise that's fine, but your question was to prove the existence of Jesus Christ Scientifically, and without quoting any passages I feel I have done that. Good Luck finding what your looking for...

there is no "proof" that god exists for non-believers. the idea is FAITH. you either have it or not. for those who do there is no need for proof because you believe without question. for those who do not believe there will never be enough proof. it is not like Jesus had a social security card and drivers license. my question is if you choose not to believe in god why do you waste your time challenging believers to convince you. it is a waste of time and does nothing but to annoy each other. if you don't believe, then don't and move on. if you want to believe than let yourself do so.

Dear Fool, (opps) what does it matter? Why won't you stopping hating on the King of Kings and spend time reading a book or having a family. Go ride a bike or how about you have some dim sum. Jesus exist period. He does not have to prove anything to you! You have the choice to believe whether or not he exist. Now go on and play with your game of checkers. Go. And how about you go and check your mail too. And how about you pray a little. That is an excellent way of talking to God :-)

No, I would continue to live my life the same way that I am right now. God taught me the morals, and whether or not he exists, I will take those teachings and benefit from them. It does not matter the source, but what you learn and how you interpret what the source is telling you.

If the OT god existed, I would change my behavior.
Into paranoid. Seeing how he commands plagues and has a temper of a raging alcoholic, that would pretty much make me paranoid of genocides, killings, and other OT-style events on my way to school or work

I would rather decide God exists and get there and find out He doesnt then decide He doesnt and find out he does! Jesus Christ is real and so is His Father God. God sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we could experience eternal life.

Is this verse talking about you?
Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Answer to your main question. It does matter because if he does exist and you refuse to believe you're soul is probably going somewhere you don't want it to go. If he doesn't exist, then it wouldn't hurt to have faith in him because either way whether you believe or not, you no longer exist.
