I have a V6 too and i use STP mixed in the gas also good quality oils , cold air intake and keep the engine cool about a stable 75 this is the most important.

if you can find someone who has a hand held programmer, you can change a few things in the computer to improve horse power and fuel mileage. i think its called a re flash, check with some good auto repair shops,

Cat Back Exhaust, Some Bigger Headers And Thats About All On A Low Budget But If You Had A Little More Money You Could Get A New Computer In There One Of The Ones That Can Set Its Own Performance Level, Maybe Even Trade It For The V8 5.0

you can go with a cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust for starters. If you can save some more money I'd also go with some headers.
