OK..As a Gunsmith..Here's the simplest way.Unscrew the barrel mounting knob and remove the barrel. On the front of the old fore-end you will see a round threaded retainer ring with 2 notches cut into it (Same diameter as the magazine tube). Use the "Tool" provided to unscrew the retainer ring (counter-clock-wise)..Slide off the old fore-end and put your Tac Star fore-end on in it's place. Screw the retainer ring back on and tighten with the tool (clockwise) Put the Barrel back on with the barrel knob..... Congrats you are now done!

Slide the slide halfway back (that unlocks the bolt from the barrel lug so you can remove the barrel) and remove the barrel (unscrew the front knob on the magazine tube end). Next, use a pair of pliers, (with a piece of heavy cardboard or leather to keep the pliers from scratching) to grip the *end inch* of the magazine tube and unscrew it. It'll slide out of the forearm and the mag spring will come out. With the mag tube out of the forearm, use the back edge of a butter knife to turn the two notches cut into the forearm retaining nut and slide it off. Replace the forearm with your new one, replace the forearm nut but only tighten it hand tight so you can easily change it later if you want. Remove the wooden stick plug from your magazine tube right now if you want, and replace the magazine tube (only hand tight again). Replace the barrel.

The "tool provided" is that funky T-shaped thing with the rounded tops. It ONLY works if the magazine tube is out of the forearm so you have the choice of removing the magazine tube from the forearm or removing the forearm from the magazine tube. The first is easiest though you'll have to learn the second method at some time, too.
