Going to church does not make anyone a christian. So don't feel bad about not going to church. Most churches don't preach the true gospel anyway so just pray for a small group of believers that you can meet with regularly because you do need to start learning what the word of God means if you are truly a new christian.

Yes you can listen to metal. I didn't give up secular music just because I was born again. But if your'e a christian, You may find that you may pick and choose certain ones later on that might convict you because of lyrics but for the most part music itself is amoral just like money. Rap itself isn't bad it 's the subject matter that makes it offensive and disgusting. It is what we do with it that matters. The love of money is wrong but money itself is not wrong. If there is a song that has lyrics that is offensive you should take special care as to who is around you and just be considerate of others that may be sensitive to that. Try the christian metal it is more edifying because of the lyrics. Just be sure you make time for God and turn the music off every now and then so that you can talk with Him and just have some quiet time. When your'e listening to your metal just remember that even if your'e alone your not alone. The Holy Spirit is always there and Christ will never leave you nor forsake you no matter what but be considerate of Him too.

Music was actually created by God for worshipping Him. If you are a Christian, then you won't want to do anything that discredits or blasphemes God. A lot of secular heavy metal music does just that. You can tell by the lyrics if it's against God or not. There are heavy metal Christian bands, but, I think that music was meant for worship, not for self-pleasure. That is what I believe.

This is what I did, First I fell in love with Jesus, then I poured myself into worship music, then as I got stronger I was able to listen to some worldly music that was not explicit and that did not make me what to go clubbing or drink. I enjoy now christian contemporary, southern gospel and gospel. Get your walk stronger so the world is not so tempting to you then you can see if you still enjoy what you re listening to.

Point it out to me where it says to only play one type of music in the Bible. It only says to make a joyful noise and use your talents to praise the Lord. Why would God give you the talent if he did not want you to use it?

I play guitar. It wasn't until after I became a Christian that I could be satisfied with my lead guitar work.

When it comes to things like this, PLEASE understand this:

Romans 14
1 Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

But for those who have a problem with your music, that is; those who are weak, you have to make sure that they are not around while you do what you do. I know that's sucky sounding, but it's the right thing to do. So if you have friends that have a problem with it, tell them that it is time for them to go home.

As is written here:
13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 14 As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. 15 If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.

By doing so, you are looking out for them. So be caring, but do the music and be the best at it. If God wants you to move on from that, let HIM tell you. Don't allow legalism to rule your relationship with God.

No,

This type of music is used by Satan and Dark Forces to influence your mind and lower your spiritual energy.

It's ok to play metal but prohibited to be a drummer and, by the way, shagging cute groupies is a major no-no!!!
