About us as a species?
I don't know because I am not God, but if I had to guess, I think that He loves our indominable spirit, no matter what goes wrong, we always cling to hope, we always try to make things better, we are like kids who refuse to give up. I think He also loves our determination, our drive to learn and evolve. Our warrior spirit that we will lay down everything we have for a cause we believe in. Also the way that when we love, we love with everything we have.

First and foremost, that we are His children and He knows us personally and by name. Also, He knew us before we came to this Earth. He knows are weaknesses our strengths, our potential. He knows are gifts, talents and the little things that make each one of us different and special. He knows that we have an eternal potential beyond this earthly existence. He is our literal Father. I am a father and if the love for my children have no bounds, how much more love does our Father in Heaven have for us?

Your face is too an option!!!
But aside from that, I don't know. I could pick a plethora of reasons, and then on the other hand they could all be used for reasons to hate people too, so.
Where art thou Storm? :(

That's the point, isn't it? He doesn't really have a reason. He loves us, as much as we don't deserve us. Unconditionally. I guess, if there has to be a reason...because He sees in us what we cannot see, what nobody else sees. He sees what we have the potential to become, if we just give ourselves fully to Him.

Mark 3
31 Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, "Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you."
33 "Who are my mother and my brothers?" he asked.
34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother."

God loves us because we are each made in her image with full abilities to choose between good and evil. God is continuing to create this world, and us, and in creation there is passion, errors, beauty, and emotion. She didn't just "make" us and let it go at that. She also doesn't meddle in our affairs.

God loves us because he made us. He made us in his image, then we sinned. He can't live forever with sinful people, so he made a way to redeem us. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. Jesus took our sin on himself, now God only sees Jesus' righteousness when he looks at us. He loved us enough to send his son to die, so we can live eternally in a sin-free heaven.
