The bible does tell us to live according to God's word, which is to live a life that pleases God. (Along with other stuff) If you dont live a life pleasing to God you still are his child. You dont get into heaven through good deeds, however you cant just say that your a believer and live a life that goes against what God teaches us in the bible. Obviously we all make mistakes and sin, but God does forgive us as long as we ask for it. If we do ask for forgiveness we cant revert back to our old ways by sinning and using the excuse that God will forgive us everytime. We must be sincere when we ask for forgiveness. God doesnt ever leave you, you stray from Him and He is always waiting for you with arms wide open.

When a person is saved they Want to live a life pleasing to God. The Lord totally enters their mind, heart, and soul and the changes that take place are all because of the Love that His Children have for Him. They Want to please Him in all ways.
If a person doesn't want to live in the Lord and please Him with the way they live their life, then the question they should be asking is "was I really saved"? or did I just go thru the motion and not make the commitment?

You'll always be a child of God one way or the other. But faith without works is dead and having Christ in your life and His influence will affect the way you live. The commandments are given that we live them and do them. Read the parable of the 10 virgins. They had to have their lamps filled and ready to be accepted by the Bridegroom. Christ gave that paralell for us so that we would be ready when He returns. God bless you.

this is too deep to be simplified.
upon salvation, the spirit of God is born within you, it is that spirit (not your spirit) that is the cause of all your Godly living if there be any at all. if there isn't a desire to at least share what you've received in Jesus Christ, then i highly doubt that your repentance was true, and therefor your hope in salvation is a false one.
now, if you're a Christian who is walking in the dark, your salvation is true. it is only that your will has not yeilded to God's will in a known area concerning your character and lifestyle as it has to do with God on a personal level. your heart has hardened and your parallel voice has gone quiet. the result of yeilding is Godly living.
'i am the visible part of the invisible Christ. He is the invisible part of the visible me.'

Siri,
We are told to do so in Revelation 2:10. Thus, we are supposed to do so. If we are not faithful members of the body then I believe that we are separated from GOD by the sins that we commit. It is possible for us to be forgiven of such sins by having our brothers and sisters pray for us after confessing of those public sins. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

When your a Christian you want to lead a life pleasing to God and you are suppose to attempt it. But God understands no one can be perfect and will forgive anything we do wrong if we are truly sorry for the action.

You must try to live a life pleasing to God. We will all fall short but it is the effort that counts. We must mortify not justify the sin in our lives and try not to do them again when we slip up.
No condoning it admitting it and try to stop.

Perfect Happiness: Now and Forever
[41:30] Those who proclaim: "Our Lord is GOD," then lead a righteous life, the angels descend upon them: "You shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve. Rejoice in the good news that Paradise has been reserved for you.
[41:31] "We are your allies in this life, and in the Hereafter. You will have in it anything you wish for; you will have anything you want.
[41:32] "(Such is your) ultimate abode, from a Forgiver, Most Merciful."

If you believe that you are only saved by grace, then of course you're good to go once you've been saved. If your saved, why would there be the need to do anything else. That would be contradictory.
