Lindsay,
My daughter is also 14 and had serious sinus headaches in the spring. I found a natural remedy on line and found it works so well she doesn't need any allergy medication when she feels one coming on.
Go to a health food store and buy some Thyme oil, Clove oil and Peppermint oil. (They sell them in small 1 oz bottles) Put a drop or two of each one in a facial steamer (Walmart sells them or you can use a pot on the stove with a towel to cover your head) You slowly inhale the steam through your nose, be careful its not to hot. She did it twice a day for 2 days and her sinusitis went away! Good Luck!

Allergies cause sinus headaches as you obviously know, but they can also cause you to pick up other infections because of post nasal drip making your throat raw.
If when you blow your nose you get red, green, yellow or any other color other than white or clear you have an infection and all the over the counter meds in the world won't help. You have to get an antibiotic.
I have recently been using a nasal spray that's the generic of flonase. Works better than the clariten or zyrtec for me to keep the allergies down. So no sneezing and congestion to deal with.
If I feel an allergy coming on anyway(sneezing, itchy eyes)or know that I'm going to be exposed to an allergen like when I do house cleaning! Then I take an antihistamine like chloramine maleate as a preventive measure. It works about 4 hours and doesn't knock me out for the day.
Once I'm starting to clog up or have the headache I take a decongestant (drains and reduces swelling), usually Phenyllephrine HCI 10mg. (4 hours)and a Tylonal (generics fine).
If I've gotten to the migraine level then I use Aleve-D which works for 12 hours.
The reason i put the hours that all these work is that it is very important to not double your medications up!
Look at the box and see how long each med takes and only take the ones you need for the symptom.
Taking a decongestant for sneezing when you nose isn't snotty or clogged will cause the sinus to be super dry and then it will react by producing more goo to moisten them. You can see the problem here. So take as little medication as you can do to get rid of the symptoms and get the ok from your parents before you try anything new.
So sorry you are feeling so bad, good luck!

Your getting older so your body may be starting to come more allergic to mold, dust and pollen you should seek a allergist if they don't get better .

Have you moved into a new house? school or other environment that you stay at for long hours indoor? this can sometimes cause new allergies.

If your headaches keep getting worse or not better within 2 weeks or if you keep getting sicker you need to go back to your doctor and he should start a treatment if he doesn't try another doctor.

I would use a humidifier in your bedroom. Works for me and my daughter.

This time of year we have forced heat, and it dries you out and leaves you vulnerable to sinusitis. Humidifier does a fair job of replacing some of the moisture. Use it faithfully every night, and remember to change the water daily and clean it regularly so you don't grow mold spores which would lead to awful sinus and allergic reactions.
