There is no comparison. Our 'knowledge' is useless in the face of God. How can we even dream it?
You made a great point. "I find that the more I read the Word of God, the Bigger He gets, and the less I know." That's the wonder of God. The closer we get to Him, the more awesome He becomes. How can we not turn our lives over to Him? He loves beyond human understanding and knew us before anyone knew us. That he deigns to notice us at all is incredible. Do you notice the insects in your yard? Know them by name? Know all their intimate details? Love them despite their ways? Incredible. Indescribable.
God!
One thing thats helped me put this in perspective is to think of a teacher. A teacher gives us a lesson. It's usually one lesson at a time. There are other things we can learn, but it's beside the point to the teacher most of the time. God, on the other hand, hands out countless lessons a day. Some big, some small, but all are important, and none are beside the point. He guides us constantly, not just in a class room. This world is His classroom. The Bible is the workbook.
Where ever He shall lead, I shall follow. For who shall I fear if God is with me? Who can be against you if God is for you?
Your friend in Christ,
bOnE

Very little...I think he gives us glimspes throughout our life...and if we're paying attention, they translate into a wisdom that provides some level of knowledge...but even the wisest people (Einstein for example) acknowledge that they know only a fraction of what would be known by the creator!
To me, it seems like you're moving in the right direction...in my experience, I usually have to get to the point of admiting I don't have a clue before God will reveal something to me...and what I know now compared to what I thought I knew 10, 20 or ever 30 years ago is much closer to what God knows...that's the journey...accepting that what you think you know may not jive with what God knows and turning to him for the right answer. I believe he does give his followers knowledge, when they are ready to receive it!

True that!!! If only every person could come to this powerful realization. Oh, how little we will ever know if we study every minute of every day of our life it will never amount to a tiny part of what God knows. That's why it is just better to do as He wills instead of trying to find our own way blindly. His Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. God bless!!
Indescribable

If ALL the knowlege, along with the proposed ideas, of man were placed in one super computer's memory it would still be less than size of one atom verses the entire universe compared to the knowlege of God.
I also agree with David F. Very little of what man 'knows' is actually knowledge.

The sum total of human knowledge would not even equal a grain of sand in comparison to the all the World's sand put together of God's knowledge!

We could know nothing if he didn't enlighten us in his word.
You said it as it is.
Isn't it something that the Lord tells us that nothing compares to him and he reasons with man in this verse, (thats special.)
<< Isaiah 40:18 >>
New American Standard Bible (©1995)
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him?
GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
To whom, then, can you compare God? To what statue can you compare him?
King James Bible
To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

Whom then is God like, in your opinion? or what will you put forward as a comparison with him?

Ergo, I am thinking that you mean when we magnify the Lord, he comforts us with His love, letting us know that the daily issues and obstacles we face in life are not to worry over. But rather, the promises He has given us when we allow Him Lordship of our lives, will be sufficient enough to bring us peace of mind for a glorious future with Him, & that He will take care of the burdens of our lives when we place them on the Cross. And we find His promises outlined clearly in His Word ~ It is then we realize His omnipotence and knowledge of our future is greater than any power we can muster for ourselves. The more we keep our lives in scripture, the more He reveals Himself to us, the more awesome, magnificent, powerful He becomes in our lives! Hallelujah to Our God Almighty!!!!

You remind me of the Book of Ecclesiastes with this question...
''I communed with my heart, saying, 'Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.' And I set in my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind.'' Ecclesiastes 1:16-17 (NKJV)

Because I completely agree....HOW GREAT is our God!
And how unsearchable His ways!
Romans 11:33
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
