I suspect you will remain poor and thin.
You didn't send ME anything on my birthday so why the heck should I entrust a whole Pound into the hands of Postman Pat? It'll only get lost or stolen en route - and even if it arrived I doubt I'd ever get a receipt or a word of thanks.
So shove off - and cease sending me begging letters.
