Well am catholic but my view on god is very different from that of most Christians, Jews and other religious people.
first of all, many Christians believe that god is all powerful because HE has supernatural powers. Second, they think that god can break the laws of nature using SUPERNATURAL powers (when you call them miracles).

i disagree on this view, i think that GOD is all powerful not because he uses supernatural powers but because HE HAS KNOWLEDGE!

i think that he knows how everything works and he takes advantage of his knowledge to create universes or even us humans.

I was taught the bible story of creation and how GOD created the universe. YES this story implies a supernatural power behind creation when GOD takes mud (or dirt) and makes the first human.

in my personal opinion, i think that GOD uses knowledge to create live. HE knows how to combine the right elements in order to create a human!

is my view on GOD nearly right or wrong?

You are right. No wrong there. Of course God has knowledge. If he doesn't, how could He have created the world or rather us, for that matter.

"Knowledge and Wisdom" are purely the attributes of Human being! This is also inclusive of many other elaborated attributes which are found in person we live with.

But when we talk about God, His level is imminently infinitive, unimaginable, immeasurable and indescribable sufficiently to mean what God is to human beings. God is God.

Supernatural abilities, comparisons, laws, and other attributes we could define here, are just explainable because we derive them from our fellow human being whom we live with in contrast with others, 'haves' and 'have not' concept.

The only RIGHT description of How GOD is, could originate from God's Kingdom's (Heaven) 'shareholder'. This could be Jesus Himself, Holy Spirit, Angel or any other heavenly Super beings.

We believe they (Heavenly 'shareholders') are there with God, so they can come one day to give us What GOD is.

But lets not forget. GOD came in JESUS form but was relegated! He 're-created people' by recreating life in dead Lazarus! That was creation again. He made food (bread) out of nothing! A creation. He made wine out of water! All these are continuation of creation including many other miracles.

God has no start nor ending! His creation is always going on and on. Never stopped and will never. Science and Technology scope is of the sort we dubiously decline to affirm. Einstein had disclosed this 'gap'. Science gets God closer and Closer. Just a 'convergence point' is still missing.

Anyway....that is what we can argue when we describe of What GOD is, and HIS abilities! More discussions needed!

I get what you're saying. If God is all-knowing, it makes sense that he could have foreseen the unfolding of the universe from the very beginning. In that case, why would he need to break the laws of nature? He could have just made them flexible enough from the outset to allow for everything that would happen from then until the end.

But there are viewpoints that suggest that God might have chosen not to know certain things (since if he knows everything it may imply that human freedom is an illusion). Check out the wikipedia article on "weakness of God" theologies. You might be interested in some of the ideas there.

I think God spoke and created all things. I know God has all knowledge over the things He created, but I don't He created the Earth or life by putting this element together with the next one.

Well, you certainly have an interesting prospective! Yes, God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent and can do things we can only imagine and many things we cannot imagine! You will know whether you are right or wrong within one nanosecond of the end of your physical life!

My question for you, however, is why are you still a Catholic? My first cousin's husband marvels that he spent 50 years as a Catholic before he got saved! He left the Catholic church when he became a Christian! Their middle daughter led both her parents to a saving knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Savior, and they continue to serve the Lord in a Bible-believing church.

You`re implying that the laws of nature supercede God. If God "knows" how to do everything because he has infinite knowledge then there must be something for him to "know".
Get the point? It`s like saying elements exist independent of God.

Well to an extent I would say that you are right, the reason that He has the knowledge is because He created all things so of course He knows how to "control" all things or "defy" the laws of nature so to speak.

There is a name for this.

But the name has escaped me at the moment.

The idea that God created science and everything that we know through science is God's creation.

Oh what's the name for this....?

INTELLIGENT DESIGN!! That's the term I was looking for!

You believe in Intelligent Design.

It doesn't matter whether you are right or wrong. As long as you are happy with what you believe and it helps you deal with life.

God created the Universe. He possess more than just mere "knowledge." He is the architect. Your question, in my opinion, seemed to cut him short of who and what He really is. God bless.

I don't quite know how "knowledge" constitutes a plausible mechanism for the creation of mankind, let alone the universe. Perhaps you could elaborate on how this "knowledge" is used for such a purpose?
