I have not been impressed with the Sig. My partner had one and it jammed quite often on him. Finally sent it in for a repair. My Stepson bought a new one and it failed out of the box. Sig was quick to repair both guns.
Of the others, the Glock certainly is the best priced gun. The model 22 is a very popular choice among law enforcement.
I'm not fond of the .40 cal., but if someone beat me with a stick until I bought one. I would get the Glock.

The FN Hi Power in 40 S&W is pretty sweet with a 10 round Magazine. Of those five I would pick the Sig.

The best .40 caliber handgun I know about was a special run of Ruger Blackhawks made for Buckeye Sports back in the late 1980's.
It was a 6.5" barreled revolver with cylinders fitted for 10 mm, .40 S&W, and .38-40 WCF.
Of currently available .40 caliber handguns, I'd prefer a Cimarron Arms Model P in .38-40 WCF with a 4.75" barrel.

Every gun you listed are first class guns in there own right. You need to decide what you are going to do with it and pick carefully. You must also see what fits you best. I own some of what you have listed and have shot ALL of what you have listed and I have the Glock. It's not the most accurate or the fanciest but it NEVER jambs and my life hinges on my gun going BANG every time I pull the trigger. My second choice would be the SIG though.

There is no "best handgun" for .40SW (or even 9mm, for that matter). The .40SW is nor "married" to a gun like the .45ACP (1911) happens to be. I would say that the Glock 22/23 are the most popular because of of law enforcement contracts but that does not mean that they are the best by any meansI stated it before and I will state it again, .40SW is more for those who just want one centerfire or cannot get beyond the 9mm vs. .45ACP argument.

I would have to go with Boker and Harley on this one. Personally I do not like Kimber though. Of course there is also a BIG price difference between them all.
Good luck

SIG 229. Expensive, but is what the pro's like the FBI and Homeland security use. I have several SIG's and these are fantastic on targets and are very reliable-Never a jam!
