About one out of every 10 patients on Lyrica will experience some weight gain. This is one of the more commonly reported side effects.
Depression is rarely reported in patients on Lyrica, usually less than one out of every 100 patients. This number is very hard to quantify, as depression is commonly seen in patients with the conditions for which Lyrica is commonly prescribed.
As the above responder has mentioned mental fuzziness or confusion can be seen in as many as one in 10-100 patients, as well as dizziness.
I will have to say I have had less complaints of problems with the medication, but I always start with a lower dose and increase as tolerated.
Incidentally, I take 150mg of Lyrica three times a day myself, and have had no problems, and have even managed to lose weight, though I did find weight loss easier before I was on this, and two other medications for neuropathic pain which also can cause weight gain.
I do feel that for patients who are taking Lyrica for neuropathic pain or fibromyalgia pain syndromes, that psychological support is a good idea. I have always had a team of mental health professionals associated with my clinic for pain patients. Additionally, we set up our own support groups to allow the patients to assist themselves. Any painful condition has significant mental stress on the patient and their family and close friends and associates.
Good luck with your condition!

l am taking Lyrica and have been for over a year and a half, I can tell you that yes it does cause weight gain, slowly but over time you will notice the weight gain and it is difficult to lose while on the medication, so I suggest you really watch what you eat and stay away from high carb foods and of course high fat food. Lyrica has not caused depression for me, but it has caused my head to really spin and made my balance a little off. You adjust to this and is a side effect until your body becomes used to the medication, Drinking makes this worse and can cause memory loss, so if you drink do it in moderation until you know how lyrica effects you. Are you taking Lyrica now? I take it twice a day 150mg.

Both me and my husband are on Lyrica for FMS, it has helped the pain but it HAS caused weight gain. Many other sites with Lyrica chats have reported people complaining of weight gain. After 2 months I gained about 10lbs and in a few weeks my husband gained 6 and we have not drastically changed out eating habits. Just a personal account of someone who is actually taking the med :-)

I rarely drink alcohol, but when I do, say 3 glasses of white wine, I do not take Lyrica on that day. I realize it is still in my system. The following day, I go into such physical depression, which lasts for several days, although I go back on Lyrica the day after I drink. Anyone has this problem?

In a word - Yes. Weight gain is a common side effect. However, according to the manufacturer's info, if you are feeling depressed or more depressed than usual, you need to talk to your doctor.

people should not post crap they apparently know nothing about.. perhaps you should go back to school. If one goes to the Phizer website it reads in part:
Some of the most common side effects of LYRICA are dizziness, blurry vision, weight gain, sleepiness, trouble concentrating, swelling of your hands and feet, dry mouth, and feeling “high.” If you have diabetes, tell your doctor about any skin sores. further,
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
LYRICA is not for everyone.
LYRICA may cause serious, even life threatening, allergic reactions. Stop taking LYRICA and call your doctor right away if you have any signs of a serious allergic reaction. Some signs are swelling of your face, mouth, lips, gums, tongue, throat or neck or if you have any trouble breathing, or have a rash, hives or blisters.
Drugs used to treat seizures increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior. LYRICA may cause suicidal thoughts or actions in a very small number of people, about 1 in 500. Patients, family members or caregivers should call the doctor right away if they notice suicidal thoughts or actions, thoughts of self harm, or any unusual changes in mood or behavior. These changes may include new or worsening depression, anxiety, restlessness, trouble sleeping, panic attacks, anger, irritability, agitation, aggression, dangerous impulses or violence, or extreme increases in activity or talking. If you have suicidal thoughts or actions, do not stop LYRICA without first talking to your doctor.

Lyrica is not known to cause weight gain and can actually alleviate depression.
A great resource is drugs.com. I find that they have very reliable info on drugs and their most reported side effects.
