I've been a fan of wine for a long time. I have many friends that say wine is great, because after drinking wine, you can drink water, and get drunker or drunk again. Or after a night of drinking wine, in the morning if you drink water, you'll get drunk again.

Being an avid wine fan, I have yet to ever experience this amazing phenomenon. So, is it true, and if so, why does it work.

There is one wine that actually does get you drunk twice that I know of & I have two bottles in my fridge that I got while on a cruise. It is called cashew wine & is made in Belize. The locals call it poor mans wine because it get's you drunk twice. The next day you wake up with no hangover whatsoever & take a drink of water & your drunk all over again. The cashew is actually a fruit not a nut. The cashew nut that we know grows inside of this fruit.

Drinking water with wine has never made me drunker. There are a lot of myths out there to keep people from doing certain things.

If anything, the water slows the absorbsion of the wine and may allow you to drink more, but the point of drinking wine is not to get smashed, but to enjoy the complexity and craftsmanship of the winemaster

otherwise, you might as well drink Boone's Farm or Ripple

Never heard that one. Are you sure their "water" isn't gin or vodka?

Drinking water along the way will help alleviate a hangover the next day, so I'm not sure how that gets you drunk.

No, that's not true...if anything, it clears your system faster (if you drink lots of water), and prevents you from becoming dehydrated, so you won't have a hangover.
