Scientific researchers who specialize in human sexuality have shown that homosexuality is linked to biology and genetics. If you want sources, I have plenty, in your question just ask me and I'll edit details and add them. How is this fair? Shouldn't mental retardation not be allowed as well?

I wasn't gonna respond to this question but somebody replied with this quote from the bible:

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Remember - it's also the book in the bible that advocates execution of children who cursed their parent and many other irrational rules.

As to the question of why is homosexuality not allowed in Christianity - It's because the bible is their definitive source of morality and reason, and if it says this or that is wrong then it's wrong - no more questioning and if it seems irrational, it's supposedly because we as humans lack understanding to see god's plan and grand design. To them the bible is infallible and perfect, despite evidence to the contrary. For most Christians it's not even necessary to study the origin of the bible, it's writers and it's translators. It's the very word of god.

It depends on which Christianity you are talking about. Some denominations take literally some Bible verses condemning homosexuality. Others are tolerant and they look at other Bible verses to support their view. This is the way of each Christian group. They look at the Bible and choose what they like and don't like. If a particular verse supports their doctrinal beliefs then they interpret it literally. If a passage contradicts a cherished doctrinal belief or otherwise is embarrassing then it is interpreted as a metaphor or not to be taken literally. There is no "Christianity" as if it is a unified ideology, which is something you need to realize. A lot of stuff is subject to interpretation, and ultimately you need to draw the line somewhere. Everybody believes that they are drawing it in the right place, and obviously they can't all be right.

Ok, well, I would LOVE to see your sources.
Homosexuality is a choice. Babies and little children do not run around acting homosexual. It is not until later in their life that something causes them to decide they are gay. It is THEN that the chemicals in the brain start to change. That is a scientific and BIBLICAL fact. The process was explained 2000 years ago in Romans 1:18- 31. And besides, homosexuality is a sexual preference just as pedophilia is. And yet, they say we need to rehabilitate pedophiles. However, if its a sexual preference, and according to you and your sources sexual preferences are in our genetics, then why should homosexuality be treated any differently from pedophilia? Either both need to be in rehab, or both need to be accepted. But I think we would all agree that pedophilia is very wrong, so what makes homosexuality any different? It is not natural, and nothing good results from it.

God commanded Adam and Eve to be fruitful and replenish the earth. That is the ordained system for reproduction. Obviously, man has had no problem following that one. Unfortunately, much of it is outside marriage. However, homosexuality cannot sustain itself. It's not natural for men to be with men. Or women to be with women. There is no provision for reproduction and the continuation of the species ceases. If you took two groups of 100 couples, one heterosexual and the other homosexual, tell them to do their thing and come back in 100 years, what would you find? On the heterosexual side you would find a population explosion. On the homosexual side you would find 200 graves. Do you think that's God's idea of "replenish the earth"?

Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Can't get any clearer right there.

And why is retardation something bad? Are we not suppose to have a life of love and caring? What does retardation do to help that? Makes us realize how precious life is let alone how fragile.

Plus if homosexuality was normal, by nature. Why did nature (G_D) create a man and woman and make parts that fit like a perfect puzzle? I don't see 2 men fitting together as a puzzle. They can't bare kids. Nothing but lust. And that too is wrong.

The bible was written 2000 years ago. It has gone thru several translations. Even after all that, it's still a pretty good book. All the important stuff is still in there. The best way to look at it is we all have our battle with the flesh. One can be sexually promiscuous and gay. Being gay is not the "norm" but that's no reason to reject Christianity. Just ask yourself this. Is your sexual needs more important than new life?

Behavior traits of all stripes are amendable with human will.
Mental Retardation or Developmental Disability is a physical disability that is not amendable.

So Alcoholic addiction is genetic as well, should these alcoholics be allowed to act out their destructive behavior. Is this fair? How about the thief or murderer should they be allowed to follow their behavior traits that they are genetically disposed to? Is that fair? Come on!

Reality is that behavior traits are amendable, physical traits are sometime non-amendable.

The Christian viewpoint is that homosexuality goes against our nature and is a sinful indulgence- it says so in the Bible. It doesn't say that mental retardation is sinful.
Continuing with the Christian viewpoint thing, we're technically all born with sin, and it doesn't mean we SHOULD sin.
If homosexuality is a biological state, then I really don't think the Bible is against being a homosexual- it is against being a practicing homosexual.
Hope I helped a bit.

I don't think it's purely a Christian prohibition. If you prefer to believe in evolution, then, Mother Nature doesn't allow it either. As a matter of fact Nature would have weeded out the Homosexual trait long ago, since the "trait" could not have been passed on.

Actually, there has YET to be a genetic link to homosexuality. Get real. Even if there were a genetic link, it would not change the FACT that homosexuality is called "an abomination" in the bible. Apparently, God doesn't appreciate it, and so, christians don't appreciate it.

What if there were a genetic link to pedophilia? Would you have the same opinion? I didn't think so.
