They will be hooked up to a Samsung 32" LCD TV. Basically for home theatre, but my livingroom isn't that large.

That's a great question that I hear quite a bit. The answer is...it depends!

Close your eyes and listen. Do you like what you hear? It's best to test the speakers in the position and enviroment that you will listen to them in. Pick out some of your favorite media (music, movies, games, etc.) and see how they make you feel.

Brand names and spec sheets only go so far. Buy with your ears, not your eyes.

Generally price coresponds to what you like to hear...so set a budget.

Finally, your speakers should be matched to the rest of your system. Probably no good to put a pair of $10,000 speakers on a $199 reciever.

If you are setting up a surround system, they are not good speakers. If you are listening to stereo only, they are fine. The best speakers (monitors, in tech talk) for surround sound, have all the drivers (speakers; - tweeters, mid-range, bass) lined straight up and down. The Bose speakers pictured use Bose's "Direct Reflecting Technology", and will make surround sound "muddy"( not crisp). Bose does make a line of speakers just for surround sound systems.

Have you listened to them ? If so, did you like how they sounded ? If you liked how they sounded ,then they are "good speakers" for you.

Only you can answer that. Hopefully you compared them with other speakers. Not like my ex,goes into an audio store and into speaker room and after 2 min says they look good let's buy them. I said aren't you going to at least listen to them? Haha, I told her you don't buy speakers that way.
