I have been told that you can get the house edge in craps down to .25% or .50%. (Forget which is it?) Even with an edge that small the house will win because they are there 24/7 365 days a year!

However, I am going to Vegas soon and want to play craps. The question is HOW do I get that house edge down that small?

To get the house edge down to less than 0.5% find a table with at 3x odds and bet the pass line (and/or come) with full odds OR find a table with at least 2x odds and bet the don't pass line (and/or don't come) with full odds.

To get the house edge below 0.25% you need to find a table with at least 10x odds and bet either the pass line (and/or come) with full odds or the don't pass line (and/or the don't come) with full odds.

If you can find a table that allows even higher odds you can reduce the house edge even more, but you will need a hefty bankroll to get through even a single losing streaks.

You can effectively reduce the house edge to zero and never win and never lose a dime at craps by betting BOTH the pass line and the don't pass line at the same time... this is a good trick to rack up comp dollars, although it's a waste of time otherwise.

While the free odds behind the pass line bet is true odds, the problem is that whatever the point is (say a 4) is not necessarily more likely to come out than a 7... so I would only play full odds on a 6 or an 8, because those are much more likely to hit and pay off those true odds for you. Whatever you do, avoid the sucker bets (don't play the field, don't play hard ways, don't play any big enticing box bets that look appealing to the player)

Lol I was going to make a poo joke too.

Seriously though...

Betting the pass line is your best bet. This alone will get you down to 1%.

After that there is something about covering your bet.. I forget. It costs you more and you win less, so you're better off just playing the pass line.

Surfinthedesert is misinforming you. Whatever the point is, taking full odds behind your pass line bet is the best option. Of course a 6 or 8 is more likely, but if the point is a 4 or 10, and the point it made, you get 2:1 on your odds bet! (for a 6 or 8 the payoff is 6:5)

SURFINTH IS WRONG! IN VEGAS THE 12 IS A STANDOFF ON THE COME OUT ROLL FOR THE DON'T PASS. IN RENO IT'S THE 2. YOU LOSE THE PASS LINE AND DON'T GET PAID ON THE DON'T PASS. PLAYING THE PASS AND DON'T AT THE SAME TIME HAS A HOUSE EDGE OF .03%.
