Isn't responding to my intense love for Him? I feel that He has abandoned me. I can't even enjoy my favorite activities, the time I spend with family and friends, and my breakfast, lunch, and dinner, without thinking about Him. My love for God is consuming me. I think about Him 24/7. I want to have an intimate relationship with Him like Jesus did. I want to live life in the spirit like Jesus did. But with all of this false teaching and the focus on wealth doctrine, I can't seem to get answers from the church. Instead this "prosperity doctrine" seems to be creating a system in the church that is similar to the system of the world..and that is the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. I want the basics of how to be like Jesus. I don't care about money or wealth. To me a life without a deep relationship with God like Jesus had, makes life useless. Is there anyone out there that can help me get to the same place spirituality where Jesus, Smith Wigglesworth were?

Nina if He is near, why won't He reveal Himself? Why does He like playing "hide and seek"

I've know God for a while and I know He is real, or else I would not be searching Him with all of my soul, heart, mind and strength. I guess I am going through a fry moment but still I need encouragement. It's easy for people to write "He is there" pray, read, go to church." But when they end up in the same predicament as me their whole reasoning changes. I need a word from God, I need to hear God's voice. Not redundant thing like go to church read, and pray. I do those things, I want a deeper experience with God. I'm not satisfied with the way things are in the Church. How many ministries are changing the world today like Jesus, Paul, Smith Wigglesworth? Interesting thing though is that all of these men said the same thing. Keep the commandment of Love and you will be able to do these things too. But how many ministries actually get to this point?

Just because a person goes through despair does not mean they are not praying, reading the word, and worshiping God enough. Does the life of David, sound familiar?

Jeremy,
You are right about a lot of bad churches and bad doctrines. Stay in the Word and keep searching for a church in your area that focuses on teaching the Word. God never ignores those who diligently seek Him. Study and grow in faith and as you continue to seek Him you will find that He was with you all along.
By the way, a consuming desire to be constantly before His presence is a good thing.
Hope that helps. Feel free to contact me directly if you need.

Wow, you seem to be in the depths of dispair. I have felt that way, too. It is a scary feeling, to feel that God has left you. He hasn't, though. And it sounds like the building you call a church, is not what you need. Remember, where 2 or more are gathered is a church. Church is the people, not the wood and nails. Also, churchs seem to get caught up, in doing their good deeds and all of the structure. Find a bible study to get into. Just get back into the Word. Pray before you read, ask Jesus to be with you when you read, to give you more understanding. And you speak of have a deeper relationship with God like Jesus had. I don't know if you could ever have that. God is Jesus, and Jesus is God, and they both are the Holy Spirit. And if you are truly born again, the spirit is in you, already. Maybe, you just need to find a quiet place, get on your knees and pray with all your heart and ask Him to soothe your soul.
God Bless!
That's why I said find a quiet place, away from people, churchs, family, and friends. No distraction. Only, you and God.

How do you know God isn't responding?
He's with you all the time so he knows your heart... and he does not abandon anybody who loves and seeks Him!
If you want the basics of how to be like Jesus, read the bible, it's all in there... keep on seeking God, keep on praying and worshipping Him and He will answer you.
Maybe you need to just chill a bit, striving is not the answer...
Read Matthew 7:7-8 and Duet 4:29-31.
It seems that God is drawing you closer to Him, just trust Him and let Him do what He wants too...
Blessings...
Oh, and the only person who can "get you to the same place spiritually where Jesus and smith wigglesworth were" is the Holy Spirit.. so just let Him - deep works with God take time and God is defiantly not on our time schedule He Has his own. :)

No he has not abandoned you at all, you might need to dig more into the word of God to get your answers because it is all there and God wants us to take it in stride as it. There is nothing wrong with the children of God doing well in life as long as our focus is on Jesus and not the things of the world. My advice is to go back to the basics , the bible and also do not be close minded there are so many Spirit filled good churces just pray to God and do not give up he will lead you to where your soul will be nourished. Cheers

listen, i'm a christian. and i know many people are going to say God isn't real. Don't listen to them.God is in fact real. You can have an intimate realtionship with him. The first thing to start with is getting in the Bible 24/7. The more you read the Bible and UNDERSTAND it, you will get closer to God. I know I have. When I first became a christian i felt the same way. Then when I started getting in the Bible I realized that God does want a relationship with me, I just have to get to know him. Think about it. If you meet someone and you want to be friends with them, don't you have to get to know them before and along the way. That's how you must do with anyone especially God. And you won't get to know him, unless you really, really, really, get in His Word. God has not abandoned you. In the Bible he says he will never leave you nor forsake you. He has not left you and he never will. Trust him!!!! He's there!!!! You might want to try going to another church. I suggest a non-denominational church. If you can't find one. Just get in the Bible and read, read, read. You will be overwhelmed with this peace, and happiness. I love the Bible!!! AND I HATE TO READ!!!!! LOL!!! But the Bible makes me feel good and it makes me feel like I'm standing right next to God. You should try it. It works!!!! God CARES!!!! HE HAS NOT LEFT!!!!! HE'S RIGHT IN YOUR FACE!!!!!! EMAIL ME AT C4J23@YAHOO.COM!!! DON'T FORGET!!!!! I WILL LISTEN TO YOUR PROBLEMS!!!!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!

I commend you on wanting to further your relationship with God. Sometimes, we go through "dry" seasons in life. I just recently went through one myself. Sometimes, we must examine ourselves to make sure that we do not hold any unforgiveness in our hearts. Perhaps you are holding unforgiveness toward the church for preaching prosperity. Sometimes, unforgiveness may be a sub-conscious thing within us, and we need to do some soul-searching. I am not implying that this is the case with you, however, it never hurts to do some soul-searching. The Bible teaches us that if we want to share in Christ's glory, we must also share in His sufferings. Remember when Christ was on the cross and he asked God, "Why have you forsaken me?" If even Jesus felt this way, think it not strange that we may sometimes feel this way also. My advice to you is to stay on the straight and narrow and take the high road. Your treasures are being laid up in Heaven where they cannot be corrupted. Seek God and talk to Him about this. He loves and He listens.

Then get thee down to a homeless shelter and volunteer there for a couple of weeks.
Meet the needs of the poor and homeless right where they are; that is what Jesus did.
And I'm quite serious about this - watch this video and you'll see why I recommend doing this:

If you can be among the poor like that, you won't believe what will happen inside your heart.

If you can't enjoy friends, family and favorite activities it sounds like you are experiencing a depression or possibly worse. You should get a consult from a mental health care professional about this.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like God just doesn't love you anymore. Maybe it's time to move on and find a new deity to worship. No relationship lasts forever.

Sounds like God is already preparing you for his work. Keep walking with Him and get ready to answer the call. In the meantime, TLH gave good advice.
