Do people all over the USA not care what is happening to WE THE PEOPLE as it pertains to our rights. Take your eyes of the television once in a while and read what is happening...We still have access to libraries. The internet...If you don't pay attention to what is going on I fear there will be no more WE THE PEOPLE no matter what party you belong to. Speak up do WE THE PEOPLE care anymore?.....I DO...

Quite true. But the Church's do not allow thinking and knowing anything apart from their specific teachings. The only thing that we can do is to keep making truthful points about the ignorance of unquestioned beliefs. Educate the non educated as best as we can, truth usually wins.. lets spread it around as much as possible.
Further, it is no longer We the People - it has become We the Christians - anything else is false and non existent in their little uneducated simple minds. I care a great deal but most really believe the constitution upholds a christian nation. None ever bother to read it and it is very accessible on the Internet as is the Treaty of Tripoli. Ignorance is their bliss.

Waking up is the first step. What is next? Our systems are lamentably defective. They were created during the age of nation building. That age has passed. We are now in the time of planet building. We cannot cry justice for one without crying justice for all because in a planetary world, all is us. It is no longer possible without great repercussions for any one nation to smugly consider itself entitled while ignoring the rest of humanity because they are different, technologically less advanced, or whatever excuse. Where are you going to find a system that will bring justice, peace, and prosperity for every human on the planet? Where are you going to find the people who are aware of the oneness of humanity and all that implies? It is time to really wake up, cast blinders off, open eyes wide open, indeed, to we the people of planet earth!

Sorry this is spaced out, my mind isn't focusing tonight.
It is the radical Right that has been called upon by Rove, etc. It really goes back to the Reagan era, when the plague of Neo-Conservatism gained popularity.
Actually, now that I think of it, this nonsense goes back to the Cold War, heck it goes back to World War II,it goes back to when the government managed to obtain almost full fledged, unquestioning obedience from Americans.
We were propagandized by the government, most people did not question because we were attacked (even though we had know it was coming, though we probably were unsure as to where the Japanese were going to attack).
Point being, once they had us "united," that was it. The Cold War was really where this got out of hand, McCarthyism. He added the outrageous phrase in 1952 (if I recall correctly), despite there being the "Treaty of Tripoli," which explicitly said the government was separated from religions, that should have been used as precedent.
Those in power have been using fear the better part of the previous century in order to lead us to conformity. They outlawed drugs (suspiciously only drugs that were, at the time of becoming illegal, only being used by some group most Americans disliked), some of which (LSD,etc) lead people to think in quite an alternate manner than the majority, threatening conformity. Also, I believe it to be unconstitutional to say what substance should be legal or illegal, that is a trampling of our rights, a complete mis-management of tax money the government is entrusted to use for the better(jails galore, violence in our streets).
This isn't only about "under god" and whatnot. There is a widespread lack of respect for our Constitution, heritage, and values. Most Americans will accuse one that criticizes anything in this country of being "Unpatriotic," HA! Or they may tell you to leave the country. Are the ideals they claim to defend being honored when they speak to dissenters as such. You know the answer.
The radical right has risen. Now we see the radical left rise (oh no-seriously). It is what History has shown us time after time. Whenever a radical group arises, the other radical group will rise to meet them, as the moderates are marginalized. Think fascist versus communist.
The "under god" thing really takes away from our valid argument. It is very valid to criticize it;but, larger views need to be criticized. Most Americans are "Christians," therefore they just laugh when the under god thing is attacked. It is a distraction in my eyes. It needs to be fixed;but, I think it will only weaken our argument for the time being.
Americans either do not realize or care about the fact we need to fight for the rights we think we have. Governments will always erode rights of people over time, people need to counter their governments. It is just how things work. Most people my age (21) don't give a damn. They don't register to vote because of jury duty. Ha! Most of the people my age are indoctrinated already to the point if you try to talk to many of them about these issues, they will try to justify unconstitutional laws/policies as being alright. It is very frustrating for me.
I do not believe enough of we are vigilant enough to turn the tide;but, I don't plan on shutting up anytime soon. I guess I'm sorry to advertise, but this has the right theme:Ron Paul for President 2008! Cheers! ;-)

after several years of trying to get people to care about their rights and telling them what is going on. i have realized that most don't give a sh*t and they won't care until all rights are gone.
i'm glad that you want your rights but most of them are gone. not all rights were listed in the constitution and even constitutional rights have disappeared.

Neoconservatism is the real heart of our society; I am sure God and orange groves have little to do with the comfort we endure in the West.
