I had kidney stones once, and I feel for you if you are experiencing them. It is no fun at all.

Once I passed mine, I got instant relief. But 2 days later, I had another attack. It lasted about a day, I passed it, too.

Afterwards, I felt a whole lot better, believe me.

Had kidney pains for several months before I saw the Doc. He had me x-rayed and saw several kidney stones for which he gave me a medicine which helped me pass the smaller stones which hurt like the devil when they came out. Others were broken up with ultra sound as I sat in a tub of water and some were too large to be dislodged.

Its very painful. Childbirth is a good comparison. It depends on how big your stone is and if you are a guy or girl. It hurts worse for women going from the kidney to the bladder than it does leaving the bladder, the opposite is true for guys. Yeah, it hurts - but the most painful part doesn't last too long. Get lots of strong pain meds (I took demerol) and drink a TON of water.

I hate to say this, but it's the only thing that can be compared to childbirth. It's very painful. Drink LOTS of fluids to help with the passage, and pray for a small stone.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
