Apparently this has turned into another There is a God/There is no God debate, but it is irrelevant as to whether or not God exists in this matter. Whatever you believe, it is our responsibility to protect the children here on earth, and to do something about abusers and predators of children. Sitting around waiting on God to handle it makes no sense when we are perfectly capable of doing something about it ourselves. I have heard countless stories of children being abused in some way by their fathers while mom just hits her knees and prays for her children and herself to be delivered, when she should have been on the phone calling the police first.

God will not flood the earth again, my dear, as it did not work the first time. People are people and there will always be crimes committed by some.

Keep in mind that earth life is a very short period of time in God's plan for our growth and development. He allows bad things to happen to good and/or innocent people without necessarily immediate consequences to help us develop a better understanding of right and wrong. For example, if consequences were immediate people wouldn't do bad things out of fear of punishment instead of through character growth.

Trust that our Heavenly Father loves us and knows our circumstances.

There are some videos at the following web site that describe the purpose of life in more detail.

The flood thing would be kind of funny if the whole situation wasn't so horrible. This is one of the few things that a few people do that really gets to me. I would not want to be in their shoes, and you have to wonder what happened in their lives that has even given them the idea to act out against such little spirits. It's so sad.

"No man or woman who is a professed follower of Christ or a professed member of this Church can engage in such practices without offending God and repudiating the teachings of His Son. It was Jesus Himself who, while holding before us the example of the purity and innocence of children, declared, “Whoso shall offend one of these little ones … , it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matt. 18:6)."

I understand your frustration - I have it too! God calls people like you and me to stand up and fight for laws that will put these people behind bars. He is doing something by making people aware that we must stand up and be counted. Christians and all people, could do more if we would! I hope you talk to your church and get them rallied up and get whole cities (all the churches) to stand up and go to Congress and say enough is enough. Good luck! God be with you.

Same reason as God did nothing about the Holocaust, the gulags, the Black Death and every other man made and natural catastrophe. He isn't there! How come you still don't get it?

We are all going to stand before God and give account one day.

How do you know that when children die that they aren't taken away from a worse thing?

Flood thing, huh? Maybe you haven't noticed but God doesn't do anything ever... Well, at least not from a human perspective.

He can't stop them from doing what they do because He promised us free will and taking that back would therefore be a form of dishonesty.
But trust me, those people will get what's coming to them, whether in this life or the next, hurting God's children will not go unpunished.

He did. I was abused as a child, and He helped me. I was even going to commit suicide and He got me away from that and I know that He loves me.

Sometimes the bad things bring you down so that you know what good things are. I know that God is a good God. It's just that God wants only those who are sick, wounded, helpless, hopeless, and looking for Him. All those other people, well, they die thinking that He is bad.
